...if you're a fan of the Bubblegum Snapshots blog, you'll know why. For once I posted a pic of me in front of the camera, rather than behind it. *gulp*

Lego Death Star Cafe!
Am still too brainmushed and tired to post anything intelligent, so you'll just have to do with this wonderfully hilarious skit by comedian Eddie Izzard - thank you Vegas for introducing me to this, I've watched it over two dozen times now and still shriek in laughter ever time, it's that good!
It's less than 3 minutes long and worth every second, I promise ;-)

Sleepy Hollow
No not the movie... my head.
Blankety blank blank is just about all that's going on, just thought to let you know. Am not a lazy poster... just a boring one today. Sorry :-(
Back to pushing the paper...

The circumsized boys are winning
Wow, the poll is really revealing some stuff here... I honestly thought that most women (and men - Roshan, not forgetting your amazing input) didn't care one way or the other but surprise! Apparently the cut boys are the way to go!
Let's see what the final tally is in a couple of days.
So, while on the subject of dick, what matters more: length or girth? Assuming the owner knows how to use his equipment, of course. Yeah I know: gimme a nice big fat sausage with a side of fries! But if you had a choice?...
I guess the only thing that matters is a perfect fit, no matter what the body bits look like. It's hard to have good sex with ill-fitting pieces - lube and cockrings can only go so far, if you know what I mean. Meow. I need to shaddap now or else that hot shower will need to be cold and that's just terrible.
5 days 'til my perfect Eleven gets here. Perfect bits and all.

Miscommunication follies
From person A's mouth: "You're being rude"
To person B's ears: "Fuck you"
Sigh.
Language is supposed to facilitate communication between humans, not complicate it. But then again, without tone of voice, facial expressions and body language things can get pretty difficult sometimes for no reason at all.
I think there might have been a misfiring last night between Vegas and I (lack of communication), which somehow inadvertently fermented over 24 hours and then emerged as a horned beast with two asses tonight over MSM chat. Ugh.
I hate arguing, it depletes me like an autumn tree.
No worries we're ok, more than ok actually... being able to talk things through after the frustration has quieted down is what makes it work between us.
The source of the argument doesn't matter, however I think I subconsciously instigated something cuz I felt disconnected in a way and felt I had to fight my way back - totally dumb, I know I should know better. I do know better. Relationships are hard enough as it is but long-distance love takes a helluva lot of extra work and effort, even if the love itself doesn't require any at all. Know what I mean?
Wow I'm having a wicked time trying to write down my thoughts after half a glass of wine (and this on a full stomach), I'm completely fried. Six more days until Vegas gets here, lords knows we need this time together and the vacation that goes with it.
Now if only this day-long migraine would evaporate. Please?

PS: snapshots update
Updated the Bubblegum Snapshots blog with some summery pics (viva California!), still a couple more to come but do go sneak a peek. I promise it's lovely.
Stuck to the plan, ma'am!
Kinda shocking actually... I managed to switch off for a couple of hours early this evening and (gasp!) watch a movie while sipping a glass of wine, well the wine lasted ten minutes but the movie went on for two hours and oh, I even cheered in a couple of places and threw a cushion at the TV set when it ended - fucking hell, for once Hollywood got it right!!!
So OK they changed the ending from Stephen King's short story (look it up in his "Skelton Crew" complilation novel) but hell, it worked, it sooo worked. Haunting and just terrible. I LOVED IT!
"The Mist"
The kids are extra cuddly and happy tonight after spending the afternoon with their sitter, melonhead's stitches are out - after he cleaned out the vet's treat jar - and my neck is one giant mass of pain, oh what I would do for new vertebrae. Sigh. Neck arthritis and stiff muscles suck raw corncobs.
Daaamn I love weekends. Gonna crash soon and hope to get a good 10 hours of sleep crammed in and lord, if I again dream that I win 52 million dollars in the lottery, can it be real this time? I have alot of houses to buy for my loved ones, thank you.

~almost weekend~
Less than an hour before I hit the pavement, free freeee from work for two whole days! Well... from paid work, that is. Need to take the melonhead to the vet's to get his stitches taken out tonight and then aaaah, wine and a movie methinks.
So a bunch of us went to a very sad diner at lunchtime today and never again am I setting foot in that dump.
It took 50 minutes to get our food (burgers and stuff), the fries were lukewarm and soggy tasteless (I sent them back!), everything had too much salt and for the money, I could have eaten twice at Burger King for the same indigestion. **You know the food is gonna suck when the tattered plastic menus are full of stickers to cover price increases over the years. I mean how much does it cost to print new menus? Gang of cheapos.**
That being said, Vegas is here in a week and I need to get rid of this bloat, it's embarassing. I am so doing the arugula (rocket!) dinner tonight, apple for dessert. My tongue feels swollen from all that salt, help!

A new poll for the girls
I think about 80% of my readers are female, so this shouldn't offend many people ;-)
OK gay boys can vote too, but no cheating. I really wanna know. If only there was a way to link anonymous comments to the poll... I'm sure some of you have interesting things to say on the matter, hehe.
You can always talk about it here, if you're brave enough.
Banks suck giant camel ass. First, you can't open, close or move accounts over the phone, so if you don't work near a branch where you can go waste your lunch hour, you're pretty screwed since they're only open from 10am to 4pm. What, only people on welfare get easy banking hours? How the fuck does this twisted logic work?
Oh wait, they are open until 7pm one night per week, but hey! You hurry up to run there after work and then get told that "you need an appointment to open, close or move an account because they close at 7pm and they cannot process the paperwork at this time".
Seriously, they are asking to be shot.
...I'm really, really tired and the brain feels like gruel. Work is super daunting this week, mleh. Am debating whether I can hack a glass of wine tonight but if I don't drink it, I might as well cook with it over the weekend cuz it's gonna turn. Oh, if all of life's decisions were this difficult.

Expanding ass
It feels like my ass is slowly but surely taking the shape of this chair I sit on 8 hours a day at work. Expanding and flattening and UGH! Horrible feeling!
I'd never thought to end up as an office girl.

Stinky little bitch
No, really: my dog has B.O.
She's not dirty, she's not ill, she's not on a bad diet. Her teeth are white, her breath is sweet, her ears are clean. She just... smells bad after a day of playing. I think it's her feet?! Her bed is on the floor right next to mine (which is not on the floor, duh) and last night when I went to bed, she had been sleeping for a few hours and man - open that window! peeyouu jeezus.
It's almost like that horrible joke... Eve went swimming in the river one day and God yelled "noooo! now we'll never get that smell out of the fish!"
*ducks*
I love my dogsitter. I know you all know, but I still have to tell. He took the kids today so they spent most of the sunny afternoon at the park, he fed them steak, made me a pan of meat pasta au gratin for my dinner, and got me a giant Lindt chocolate bunny and a copy of "The Mist", an apparently very good movie.
I have no freaking idea what I did to deserve this angel in my life. *shakes head* Now if only that appartment in his building can become vacant... Please! I need some good joojoo, folks! Send me those vibes! LOL
Wow, another post about nothing. Wonder how much longer I can coast like this. Oh well better enjoy it... I won't be blogging much once Vegas is here next week for his last visit! *sighs in longing*

Magnificient headrush
Wow. One small glass of red wine has my head spinning but in a good way...
Dinner was a bowl of organic baby arugula drizzled with a balsamic glaze and a sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds, an orange, two little chocolates and a few japanese tamari rice chips to balance out the wine... went tanning after work and walked loads today so am feeling pretty fine, wooo! And yes, I did eat carbs and protein today. Tsk.
Am feeling a whole lotta love for the world at the moment, so enjoy it while it lasts! LOL!
Well, specially for my awesome man, even if sometimes I want to strangle him through MSM, fucking internet communication - argh! He drives me crazy sometimes but then after the furious typing and mental cussing, things always circle back to lovey-dovey and sigh... so frustrating to not be able to have make-up-sex, you know?
Ten long days. Two fiery temperaments, two souls madly in love with each other - it works out pretty well ;-)
I'd better shut up before writing super über mushy things nobody wants to hear about. Damn alcohol. Why is my liver so small? I love him! I love him! I love him!

I'm not angry today :-)
So that makes blogging a tad boring... but, um, is it wrong that I'm sitting here in my office wishing to sip on a glass of red? To go with my very late microwaved lunch, of course... *ah-hem*
Supposed to snow again tonight, so I'm allowed for oblivion's sake.
So girls, I lifted the below from some dating site, what do you think? Also posted what *I* thought, I could not let something so shite escape criticism. For? Against? Indifferent?
General Dating Rules
Always look great, whatever your income. Gorgeous hair and some lipstick and wearing rags will still turn his head. You have the advantage, you are the woman. Look your best as you could meet a potential Mr. Right anywhere at any time. Sure, I love walking my dogs in high heels and a skirt in muddy icy parks during a snowstorm. Love it.
Never reveal information you don't have to. An enigmatic woman drives men wild. I may be single, I may not be, depends on how hot you are - c'mon cowboy, prove thyself! *rolls eyes*
Keep dates brief but your men interested. Less is always more. Does that apply to cleavage too?
Try and stay in shape and involve some fitness regime at a gym. However much you hate it, your Mr. Right loves your body as much as your mind. Specially when said Mr Right is a 300 lbs fatso with man boobs.
Let your man pay. If he is interested, he is interested enough to ensure you eat well and get home safely in a cab. This sets the tone for him to expect a cold drink and a blowjob when he comes home from work, too. Ladies, beware.
Ensure you receive flowers, if he doesn't know what a florist is, dump him. What if I get a poem, or a song, or a cute button that makes me laugh? Dammit. I hate dumping good men cuz of this crap. Oh well, rules is rules.
Never ever sleep with a guy until he has fallen for you. Sex early in your dating game plan will ruin everything. But never fall in love with a man with a small dick or who is a bad shag or you'll be eternally frustrated in bed. What a conundrum.
Always keep a guy waiting and never turn up early. It is a lady's perogative. Specially arrive late for movies and concerts and sports games, drives the men wild. Try it!
Never be available when he wants you to be. Never be at the end of a phone when he calls and always let him leave a message or two first before replying. But don't be surprised if he ends up dating your best (available) friend...
If he is available Tuesday, you are available Thursday. Which is when he has AA meetings. Foiled again!
Weekend shopping trips with girlfriends are sacred and not available for dates. Well, DUH. Finally a rule that makes sense! Who needs sex and romance when you can spend a day at the Walmart shopping for diapers and shower curtains? Really!
Keep your man standing on quicksand by shifting landmarks and goalposts constantly. Make him feel like a right idiot, cut off his manhood at the balls... and then wonder why he never calls the psycho (you) anymore. Tsk.
Ensure you are a good kisser. Men will walk away if you cannot kiss. Practise on a mirror if you have to. Cuz we all know that a) all men are born fabulous kissers and b) mirrors love givin' back that hot tongue, oh yes they do!
Never ever talk about previous boyfriends and particularly their prowess in the bedroom. The number of ex boyfriends is your business only. You hear that, Mister Snoopy McSnoop? My crabs, my warts, my business. So nerr.
Never pre suppose anything about your date until you choose to know him better. You cannot always tell by looking. He got those black eyes and missing teeth falling from a tree. And those tattoos are not gang-related. Honest.
If any man shows the slightest signs of possessiveness or insecurity run like the wind. Life is too short for boys. And stalkers.
If his shoes or hygiene are a disgrace dump him. Yeah - you're not his momma! Git yer own soap!
Never talk too much about your father and how your date measures up in comparison. My father has an 8" dick, how about you?
Never ever come across as too available or too desperate, he will run a mile. He is the one doing the chasing remember. Like a dog chasing cars, just about the same IQ...
If the guy in the corner is gorgeous go and get him and create the need in him for you. Never wait for men to come to you because you may watch him leave with someone else. How does this not conflict with the rule above? I'm lost here.
You may well have all the bodily functions of a man, just try not to demonstrate them early on. No belching contests? Oh come on!
If you are wanting a child, don't mention it on the first few dates. Just hand him a porn mag and a tupperware, keep the turkey baster handy...
...who writes this shit? You think I made it up? Hell no, look for yourself if you don't believe me.

Charged with being an asshole
He he he!! Girls, ever wish you could be in a situation like this? This minute-long gem must be seen ;-)
Yay for good ol' Kids In The Hall... they were a huge part of my life for years, anybody else here a die-hard fan other than me?
Um, yeah. What brought this sketch on... er, Vegas tried to cheer me up the wrong way so it made me feel worse, he apologized, yaddi yaddi yadda, we both laugh at it now (kinda sorta), fuck my life is boring sometimes. Yes this was the cause of my depressed bitching and ranting today that broke his patience *silent screams in my head*
I am dreading this frantic work week, the weather sucks hairy balls, I am beyond sick and tired of the biting cold and ice, Vegas is doing a work day-trip to Scotland tomorrow so he'll be incommunicado, I need a good long hot love session to set me right ok? I'm a normal woman, right? I think?! Eleven. Long. Days.

Not much goin' on...
It's Easter Monday, I'm off today. Hurrah.
Tried to go tanning but it was closed, mleh. Had a quick indian curry lunch with N, got the kids 30 lbs of ground beef and nearly tore my shoulder off lugging the bags up 3 flights of stairs.
Bored now. Dusting can only entertain for so long.
Still eleven long days until Vegas is here. I guess it's a better number than anything higher than eleven. Why is there nothing on TV except soap operas and poopoo baby diaper shows? I guess the smart people are at work NOT watching TV while the retards... well, you figure it out.
Can't talk about sex cuz I'm not getting any.
Can't talk about dramah or gossip, the field is dry on that front too.
Can't talk about religion cuz I don't want to start a war.
I am in no mood to shop or talk shop, I haven't watched a movie in ages or gotten drunk and fallen down the stairs or gone home with some random stranger who tried to wear my panties on his head.
Frankly, I'm surprised I still manage to fill a post with nothing and you're still here reading me. Hey. I guess if it worked for Seinfeld...
I miss that show, it was brilliant.
Well, that's about it for today, thanks to youtube.com it's not a total waste! Oh and Vegas just popped up online, yay! Maybe I'll get lucky, hehe.

Here comes the sun...
Sure is bright out there, despite the biting cold that never goes away. At least the kids are enjoying it immensely, they make the six month winter quasi-bearable.
So if you were to caption this photo... what would it say?

Snappy Easter
Snappy as in "it is unbelievably and cruelly cold outside but bright and sunny so your eyes tear up extra fast in the blowing siberian winds".
That about sums it up - there is as much easter spirit here as there are bikini-clad beauties scattered on the dirty snowbanks.
There better be good chocklit sales in the stores tomorrow!
Vegas doesn't like my "cheap chocolate", ie Hershey and stuff, he's a chocolate snob who likes super expensive hard tasteless waxy things imported from Saint Pippins so yay! More for me! *happy dance*
I've dedicated today for chores. Been slacking off and am now tired of wallowing in my own filth, I have no more clean socks and I'm sick of eating toast three times a day. So yeah. Still need to take the dogs out a couple of times (and get frostbite on my face in the process) and am meeting N and Funboy for dinner to break the day's monotony. See? I'm half-baked!

Hot chocolate - check.
Hot bubble bath - check.
Glass o'wine - check.
Arctic winds rattling against windows - check.
Long cozy sleep ahead - sure as heck hope so!
G'nite peeps.

I have to share this story
Some of you might have heard or read it before, but even if it's not new, the moral is still worth its weight in gold (and that's alot on today's market!)
Read on:
A small boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
"Not very long” answered the Mexican.
"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.
The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life."
The American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."
“And after that?" asked the Mexican.
“With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”
“How long would that take?" asked the Mexican.
"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years”, replied the American.
"And after that?" asked the Mexican.
"Afterwards? Well my Friend, That's when it gets really interesting," answered the American, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!"
"Millions? Really? And after that?” said the Mexican.
"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."
And the moral is.......
Know where you're going in life... you may already be there.

Why do I bother?
No, really. Why do I watch the weather forecast? It would be less painful to chew on broken glass while being flayed. And sodomized by a giant cactus.
"Colder than normal temps are expected for the next six (6!) weeks, spring may have sprung but do not expect to see all this snow melt before a very long time..."
"January temperatures forecasted for the next five days"
"the closer we get to the end of March, the colder it gets"
Fucking A.
I just came back from a 15-minute walk with the dogs and I cannot feel my face: it is -20C (-4F) with the wind, and trust me the wind is blowing HARD. My cheeks are about to turn black and peel off my face. I would cry, but the tears would freeze on my face into little rivers of ice. I AM FUCKING GOING MENTAL!!!
No wonder Jesus wanted to be nailed to the cross, he was probably from Quebec and threatened to be dragged back here so he took the easy way out.

Salami Fighting Association
Again Vegas made me split a seam laughing my ass off... OMG ... "strange" doesn't even begin to cover this one, it needs to be seen to be believed!
Today's giggle courtesy of Vegas
There's a terrible accident in a mine, and one of the survivors passes out after his leg is crushed. When he comes to in hospital, the nurse says "Don't worry, you're OK. You lost your leg, but you're alive."
And the miner says "That's all very well, but who wants a one-legged gold-digger?"
Paul McCartney shouts "I do, I do!"
ROTFLMAO!!!

New poll is up - get to brushing!
It's raining, it's snowing, the northern wind is blowing... man, am I ever glad not to be homeless on a day like this. Or any other day, for that matter.
Where do these people go to relieve themselves or wash? :-o
Forget it, I don't want to know. Really.
Is anyone working tomorrow since it's Good Friday? Who has a long weekend, raise your hands! I'd like company tomorrow, you know. Don't desert bloggerland just cuz your fingers are all sticky with chocolate bunny goo.
So it looks like Vegas and I are all aligned for our first "couple" purchase... a new car! Or rather a dogwagon, LOL! Just finalising the details tomorrow, the offer was just too good to pass up. It's all a bit scary though but hell, we're in this for life so it's gotta start sometime, eh?
What a headrush. *close to passing out*

Staring at the blank screen
I must have started this post a dozen times, only to erase what I wrote cuz it wasn't going anywhere or it wasn't relevant or whatever.
Truth is my brain was pummeled all afternoon at work so any kind of thinking right now just plain hurts. I'm fuzzing out on hot chocolate and wine, it's pouring freezing rain outside, my heart is on the other side of the Atlantic and if I have to write another list I shall scream.
I want to read the entire Anne of Green Gables series again. And Little House on the Prairie, the original books. Remember the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew novels? I might give those a crack too, for no other reason than the sheer joy and pleasure of reading something that makes me feel good like warm apple pie and no chores.
Sometimes I think people are becoming book snobs... plowing through reading just because it makes them feel smart.
Well duh, what a waste of time.
Right now my bedtime book is Eat, Pray, Love and it's truly a gem - not read enough to give it two thumbs up yet but it looks good. This from a girl who loves Reader's Digest because it's babyfood for the brain, a must before zzz's.
Someday I'll renew my subscription... just don't have enough time to read anything anymore. Damn internet. It's eating up my life chomp chomp chomp.
This is a strange wine. 2002 Algerian red of some sort. Not sure if I like it yet, and really? Don't care. Just put me to sleep already, may this day end... and bring me one day closer to seeing Vegas again.
What do you get if you mix a rooster with peanut butter?

Fucking shite weather, batman!
The title of this post just about sums it up. You don't need details, trust me... you just don't. On top of that, most of the night was spent tossing and turning in bed so I hope nobody gets on my tits today or they will get severely mauled. I'm just sayin'.
I feel like that country song: My head hurts, my feet stink, and I don't love Jesus.
I don't know how many of you check out my Bubblegum Snapshots blog but in case you haven't, well click and go... feedback is always appreciated. Maybe eyes and ears would perk up more if I posted nudie pics. he he. (not gonna happen, don't even ask).
Sigh. I miss being kissed.
Mmmm warm soft lips, a tease of hot sweet tongue, nibbles, sucking, kisses getting deeper and deeper, the perfect fit, the pauses, the heat of rushing breaths, tender kisses lusty kisses deep kisses light kisses.
Thank god I met my match because there is nothing worse than a bad kiss, maybe except being with someone you _don't_ want to kiss. Shudder.

Girls: find the goodie :-)
Wow I feel dull... Like Brooke on American Idol right now - for god's sake woman! You're brilliant, why did you have to get all corny, awkward and boring on us? And that hideous dress? Ghah. At least she knows she sucked and was apologetic about it.
Anyhoo.
Not much to report besides a dull day at work, still freezing cold, icy and damp here - fuck am I ever sick and tired of winter clothes and red running noses - and melonhead is doing well, considering. His man-bits (or what is left of them) are a horrible angry red and purple color, they're swollen but the stitches seem fine so I won't worry unless it looks worse tomorrow.
And boy does he ever stink, like every pore is oozing remnants of anaesthetic. The big happy face and wagging tail are there, but I can tell he is still exhausted. One day at a time.
I forgot to mail in my taxes - carried the envelopes with me all day in my purse. Crap. Alzheimer's.
The highlight of my day was some phone time with Vegas earlier tonight, curled up on the couch and feeling warm for the first time in days.
Wow.
A big new luxurious couch and I can only feel at home using it if he is here or on the phone with me - I should just wear the t-shirt "Hi I'm Quirky, fuck off" and get it over with.
Seriously, we hadn't had a voice convo in a week. Either time flies, or the stress ate us up like a box of donuts at the precinct and we just forgot to pick up the phone and then days flew by and and and.
Am still feeling all sparkly and loved up, he has the most amazing voice evah that just envelopes me like a giant soft fleece fresh and warm from the dryer on a cold winter night - rrrrr.
!!Two weeks and three days!! until he gets here and scoops me up in a giant bear hug... drags me to the bedroom where days of ravishing will ensue... he he. The inner harlot speaketh.
In the meantime, the outer harlot needeth a hot shower with lots of fruity lather. Sorry again for the dull post but hey, y'all were warned!
PS: girls, if you read this far then I'll let you know that if you click on Vegas' name above, it is linked to a picture of his eyes. Am I bad? LOL!

Quick update on the eunuch
He's such a love... greeted me with a wagging tail at the vets even if he was parched, cross-eyed from residual drugs and had trouble coordinating his legs - we did make it home though, where he hungrily ate two cookies and lapped up giant bowl of cold water, two very good signs.
Whimpering subsided after a while and there was no howling at the walls, which is a huge improvement over the last time he was under anaesthesia *whew*.
He slept a bit, ate a cup of dry food (it's Burger King to him) and then crept into his crate of his own accord, where he's been passed out since then. Could I ask for a better patient? For the record he rarely goes into that crate anymore, so it just goes to show how strong the "den" instinct is in wounded/healing animals.
My little angel:
He needs to take painkillers and anti-inflammatories for 5 days and *crossing fingers* the wound stays clear and the swelling goes down quickly. Stitches come out in a dozen days and then he should be good as new! Minus the ballsack.
On another note... I did a bad thing tonight.
Vegas left a sweatshirt behind for me to wear when I miss him and I had a wave of waaaah so I just hugged the shirt and buried my face in it... oh the sweet scent of heaven. But this only made me miss him more. Crap!
I don't think it's possible to be in love with someone if their smell isn't right. Or am I just weird, as usual?

Aren't we all "just right"?
~From "The Playboy Advisor," Playboy magazine, March 2004, in answer to the question, "If you have small breasts, how do you make yourself look sexy? Most guys want girls with large breasts."
Is it me, or is this disturbing?
Tom Cruise and Dubya are neck-to-neck in the Biggest Dickhead poll.
I wonder what that means!!
I wonder what that means!!
He's OK!!
And no, I did not ask to keep his plums in a jar for show n'tell. Sheesh.
/end of ball-free post/
Bye-bye furry plums...
I'm a nervous mama right now... my boy is at the vet's getting snipped, his last anaesthesia went badly so am crossing my fingers he will be OK. Since he's a big dog at 135 lbs and 4 years old, the surgery is longer and more complicated than usual.
Please send good vibes!!
I feel better today, at least the sun is out for a change... keeps the biting cold in check. Vegas and I have smoothed some things over for now, so this week should be easier to cope with - one day at a time. I'll try to not look at the big picture and freak out so much... If I do, you are all free to bitch-slap me into consciousness.
Also, am wondering if the nightly glass of wine is making me paranoid? It's supposed to be relaxing and yeah, most of the time it is but... last night it made me cry. I hope to god I'm not fringing on bi-polarity or anything?!

The rollercoaster
Ever feel like you're strapped in and enjoying the ride but suddenly you need to get off because it's going too fast and you're dizzy, but you're stuck in a loop-de-doop and have to wait until the ride is over to step out?
Ok maybe that's not a good analogy. I guess I suck at everything tonight.
I wonder if I'll be able to sleep and if I do - will I dream that I'm dying again? Why do I feel like such a failure right now, when everything in my life is going so well?
Probably because I'm questioning it - do I even have the right to?
I am afraid of losing the magic, the romance, the dreams. If I lose that in the crazy shuffle and bustle of "real life and logistics", what is left? Daily survival?
Love is life but being in love is oxygen, and in my experience the two don't mix very well. And when you start to fall out of love, it's a slippery slope that breaks your fingernails as you try to claw back up - and hello, who is there at the top to welcome you with a frying pan to the head? Reality.
I am afraid of the very thing I so badly want, because I couldn't bear to see it die - if this fails, I have nothing left to give.
I am afraid to hurt the man I love with all my heart and soul, because I feel so weak and so broken sometimes.
I am afraid I will never be enough.

I am lush-ious
How are you tonight?
Me, I'm finely spiced with Saint Chinian, thankyouverymuch. What better way to end the shortest day of the week with red wine, Tiesto's clubmix (yay free podcasts!) and sifting through & prepping a new bunch of photos for this week's Bubblegum Snapshots?
Does it show I'm quite drunk right now? No? Good :-)
Am. Typing. Really. Slowly.
While bumping my ass on the chair to the beatsss, um-hum yeah yeah! That's what you get for waking up at 11am (cuz in my dream, I was on MSM chatting with Vegas and wrote "have to go wake up now, talk to you later mouah! mouah!" I know. I'm a retard) and then walking around like a zombie all day. Not sure what I accomplished besides getting a tan, exercising the dogs, puttering around the kitchen and muttering to myself. Oh well.
It's my weekend and I'll waste it if I want to :-)
Damn this wine is fine. Everything seems OK when under the influence. What problems? What snow? What lack of sex? See? S'all good. Kay. Back to photo editing, be good y'all - and if you can't be good at least blog about it soz I can smile!

My life in random songs
This tag comes from Fallen Angel and it goes like this:
1.Put your music player on shuffle.
2.Press forward for each question.
3.Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn’t make sense. NO CHEATING!
4.Bold the questions and with the answers, give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.
5.Tag some people.
So... let`s play! :)
1. How are you feeling today?
De/Vision – A New Dawn (well yeah, no kidding!)
2. Will you get far in your life?
Dubfire - Roadkill (uh-oh... I better stay off the roads...)
3. How do your friends see you?
Enigma – Hello and Welcome (am I running an Inn?)
4. Will you every marry?
Paul Van Dyk – Time Of Our Lives (apparently yes and it's gonna be awesome! Vegas, you lucky man, you! grin)
5. What is the favorite theme of your best friend?
Project Pitchfork – The Clone (I have no idea what this means)
6. What is the story of your life?
Kaskade – Steppin’ Out (of course - am not one to stagnate forever, this life needs to be lived!)
7. How was it like in high school?
Afro Angel – Join Me Brother (did I start clans? for geeks and outcasts?)
8.How can you advance in life?
Booka Shade – In White Rooms (um... the looney bin? what?)
9.What is the coolest thing about your friends?
Gabriel & Dresden - Enemy (for fuck's sake! this iPod is lying!)
10. What's in store for the weekend?
Tisto feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw – Battleship Grey (true. it's grey and wet and gross outside, one giant battle against the weather and other stuff...)
11. What song describes you best?
Cirrus – Time’s Running Out (no comment)
12. How about your grandparents?
Depeche Mode - Comatose (this is starting to freak me out. stop it.)
13. How is your life going?
Max Graham – Club Tropicana (he he. just missing the hot sun and little colored umbrellas in our beer bottles)
14. What song will play at your funeral?
The Infinity Project – Feeling Weird (awesome! i imagine being dead will feel pretty damn weird, so yeah!)
15. How does the world see you?

Shake that [ass]
Don't ask too many questions... after all it's Eminem so yeah, it's sexist, it's rude, tasteless and yet oh so funnaay! he he - I totally love this song, love blasting it in my car to feel the throbbing base numbing my skull while bellowing out the filthy lyrics... I know I know, I'm weird - and so whuut? *grin*
To faint, or to scream???
Or both? Can one scream while fainted? Oh it's just too much at the tail end of a very long, stressful and emotional week...
VEGAS GOT THE JOB!!
Yeessss! Yes! Yes! Yes!
He found out late tonight and just told me an hour ago, both of us are in shock more than anything else right now... holy shit. Forget about him moving here from the UK next October - we're looking at possibly June now!
*breathe breathe breathe*
I guess we'll give the madness a weekend before it settles in... like they say, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.
We both have to get through two grueling weeks at work (end of March is always hell), Dakotah aka melon-head gets neutered on Monday so that is another big event for me... am terrified of having him under anaesthesia, sigh. The little bugger better be all right...
We're still waiting for news on whether that bigger appartment that we have our eye on frees up or not, and oh the list goes on and on... so fingers are still crossed on a few things.
Main thing is that so far the stars have aligned themselves beautifully, magically - this is like some surreal and incredible dream but yet I pinch myself and it hurts so hey, it's really happening!
It's happening because we wanted it to and worked hard for it. It's happening because we deserve this happiness, we deserve this love and realise that even if the seed was a gift, the rest is a field we are growing with every breath of our souls, through sunshine and rain.
Vegas, a toast to you, to us and to life.
I love thee ;-)

Dear God
I love, love, love this classic XTC song... Wikipedia states "Dear God is a song on XTC's 1986 Album Skylarking, controversial because of its anti-God sentiment which might be interpreted as either dystheism or atheism. In the UK, when the song was originally released as a single many record shops refused to stock the track, fearing a religious backlash."
Watch the video, it's brilliant... and it's subtitled, so the lyrics cannot be misinterpreted. I won't disclose my religious beliefs here (to each his own) but suffice to day, they were brave to sing what many people only think about but never dare to voice.
I love Hollywood
Not Martini's Hollywood, I mean the films... and their memorable quotes. Honors today go to:
"Yeah, years ago. Oh, man. I ate so much pussy in those days, my beard looked like a glazed doughnut." Dennis Hopper, River's Edge
"Dad gave me this. Fifth birthday. He said, "Childhood's over the moment you know you're gonna die." Michael Wincott, The Crow
"It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black." Christopher Guest, Spinal Tap
"Stay home and eat all the freakin' chips, Kip." Jon Heder, Napoleon Dynamite
"Look at me, jerking off in the shower... This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here." Kevin Spacey, American Beauty
...back to work... sigh.

I love him
I love him.
I love him.
I love him.
Not that I ever doubted that.
Today was difficult to get through on many levels, but here I am - feeling better and stronger for having gone through all of this, as painful as it was.
And thanking you all again for your wonderful support, thoughts, kind words and prayers :-)
Vegas and I talked today, talked again and then talked some more. And did plenty of listening, of thinking, of introspection. In the middle of the day, just like that, he bought a ticket and will be here in three weeks, no matter what happens on the work front. It helps alot to have anchors like that, it's something to work towards to and makes the daily grind easier to deal with.
Yes there are still unanswered questions to address, but they don't seem so daunting anymore. If I can only tell my inner critic to shut the hell up for a moment, I can see the forest for the trees and oh, it is all so damn beautiful.
I feel loved, respected, cherished and protected. The rest... will be dealt with one day at a time. And that is mighty fine.
Am holding good on my promise for an early night... sweet dreams, everyone.

It is snowing. Again.
The flurries are coming down hard and furious: another 2 to 3 inches are expected by the end of the day. Then another siberian freezing cold night.
It's as if time were suspended in a never-ending ice age, where all hopes of warmth, spring and green are slashed to bits by sharp icicles and howling northern winds.
This is abnormal. March 12th, locked in the grips of a deathly harsh winter.
No wonder I feel so sad, depressed and blue, flat and heavy like a lard pancake, brain full of grit and bile, lungs the size of peas. I am forgetting how to smile and everything hurts, inside and out.
Tonight's self-improvement menu:
Walk home after work. Take dogs out for long walk & romp, run errands. Feed them dinner, try to eat something myself. Have a big glass of wine and be in bed by 10pm, lights out.
I can do this, right?

All I Really Need To Know
This is all I can manage right now... hope you enjoy :-)
All I Really Need To Know (I Learned From Noah's Ark)
1. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
2. Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone might ask you to do something REALLY big.
3. Don't listen to critics - do what has to be done.
4. Build on high ground.
5. For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
6. Two heads are better than one.
7. Speed isn't always an advantage. The cheetahs were on board, but so were the snails.
8. If you can't fight or flee - float!
9. Take care of your animals as if they were the last ones on earth.
10. Don't forget that we're all in the same boat.

Giant panic attack
I've gone and killed something. Or have badly wounded it - hard to write as tears run down my cheeks like warm blood from a ragged cut.
A simple conversation with Vegas before I left work spawned a terrible monster in my head as I walked home, and before I knew it I was in full-blown panic mode. Hard to breathe, tummy ache, sweaty palms kind of panic mode.
I saw our life together down the road and "real life" smacked me in the face. And instead of breathing through it, I got on chat and just blurted it all out, it became a heated exchange that got nasty before I left to get the dogs from the sitters. Once back, he was still online so I tried to explain but only felt like I was sinking in deeper -
Am I ready for this? Why do I feel trapped and in a race against the clock? Why am I so afraid to fail? Why is everything going so damn fast? What part of myself will I have to give up in all of this, silently or loudly, to keep the peace? Will he love me less for being such a bitch?
Then a freezing panic just nailed me to the spot.
I can't move. I can't lose all the control I've managed to scrape together since last summer. I can't do this. I can't breathe. I can't make any decisions right now bigger than choosing what to wear every morning. I'm not strong enough. All the options we have fill me with fear and dread: not living together will be draining, uninspiring and pointless yet living together will create new stresses and kill what we have.
Fucking hell. I had no idea I had this garbage sitting in my head, ready to be spilled on the sidewalk with one little kick.
After a few hours of chatting, things are ok but nothing is decided. And something, I'm not sure what, has been broken. I feel drained, dirty and defeated. He is the love of my life yet I am fucking it up before even giving it a chance, because I am so afraid to fail. Because I want everything, without giving anything back. And worst of all, because I hurt him and he did nothing, nothing at all, to deserve this. Me and my fucking baggage.
I feel like shit.

I used to have shoulders
It's true. They held my arms up in place and my head kinda straight. Now? Shoulders gone, replaced hot hot hard masses of THROBBING PAIN!! oooyaaa, I feel dizzy.
Stretches? Done that, zero relief.
Auto-massage? Done that, what a stupid way to generate more pain.
Drugs? Am so going to munch some pills now, been trying to avoid it all day but mofo, it's getting worse. Desk jobs suck ass.

Because Everyone In Canada Lives In An Igloo
A friend of mind sent this gem to me today... had seen it before but it still gets me snickering every time! he he
Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some questions people from all over the world are asking. Believe it or not these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism website.
Obviously the answers are a joke, but the questions were really asked!
Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow (England)
A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.
Q: Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? (USA)
A: Depends on how much you've been drinking.
Q: I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto -can I follow the Railroad tracks? (Sweden )
A: Sure, it's only four thousand miles, take lots of water.
Q: Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Canada ? (Sweden)
A: So it's true what they say about Swedes.
Q: Are there any ATM's (cash machines) in Canada? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Halifax? (England)
A: What, did your last slave die off?
Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada? (USA)
A: A-Fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-DA is that big country to your North... oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.
Q: Which direction is North in Canada? (USA)
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.
Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada?(England)
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.
Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? (USA)
A: Aus-t RI-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is...oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.
Q: Do you have perfume in Canada? (Germany)
A: No, WE don't stink.
Q: Can you tell me the regions in British Columbia where the female population is smaller than the male population? (Italy)
A: Yes, gay nightclubs.
Q: Are there supermarkets in Toronto and is milk available all year round?(Germany)
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gatherers. Milk is illegal.
Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada, but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)
A: It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking.
Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? (USA)
A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

More storm pics added
Posted three more on the Snapshots blog... probably will put one or two more by tonight. Funny how the same snowstorm can yield so many different photos! If only snowflakes were dollars - I'd never want to move.
Had terrible insomnia last night, kept drifting in and out of a state of semi-consciousness plagued with nightmares of demons, death and darkness.
What. The. Hell.
Am wondering if I should have wine before bed tonight to slap my brain to sleep? If I have to die one more time in my dreams, I'm gonna get pissed off!
So yeah, I got to work at lunchtime... am so lucky to have patient and understanding bosses *blush* Oh and I love having an extra hour of light at the end of the day, sure makes it easier to walk the kids after work.
Going on 4pm, still not hungry... should I have lunch?

Owwww
My back hurts from shoveling and I only got half done.
Oh well, screw it. Not like the snowplows are gonna kick me out of my parking space for a few days, they have bigger streets to fix first. Mouahaha!
I've been a hermit for most of the weekend... besides a quick diner lunch with N today, I haven't seen anyone. Am I supposed to feel bad for being a social retard? I don't know where this piece of shit weekend went, anyways... seems like one giant struggle with the weather and then wham! It's Monday again. Sigh.
My dietary habits have become pathetic - cooking for one sucks ass, if you ask me. Last night's dinner was a handful of nuked cocktail eggrolls and cookies, while tonight I dined on a bit of crockpot chicken, an apple, some rice chips and ginger snaps. Awesome.
I however am blaming PMS, I mean it's gotta be good for something besides headaches, being bloated and craving tubs of chocolate caramel, right?
Oh shit.
I just got off the bathroom scale (had to dust and calibrate it first, never use that thing) and it said 125 lbs. Is it shitting me?! Since when did I gain 5 lbs?! Aaaaaaaaah!! Fucking hell.
Well, I'm glad I know now. Cuz as of tomorrow morning, it's more exercise and better nutrition, gotta put the brakes on all that bad snacking - am not 20 years old anymore and need to smarten UP. Besides... I want to look hot for the next time I see my man, rreeerrrr!
Sex with a hot guy is always a good motivator, don't you think?

So... you wanna see?
I posted four "blizzard aftermath" photos on
Bubblegum Snapshots (click here) - many more to come in the next couple of days, so be sure to check often... unless the sight of snow makes you want to smash your head into a brick wall.
(keeps self in padded room)
Here is a taste of the shit we're stuck in (click on the pic to see it better):

Here are two more:

Wow... it stopped snowing!
Am going to go out and photograph the aftermath, although it's damn cold out and my camera will probably not cooperate very much. Right now the sun is out but we're supposed to get *more* flurries in a bit... I better run and catch this window of opportunity.
Hope everybody is ok today!

Blizzard from satan's ass
Here are a few photos taken today from my balcony - they in NO way do justice to the furious howling winds blowing snow and hail almost horizontally everywhere, OMG is the city ever going to be one giant motherfucking mess tomorrow.
I promise you more pics then... for now, am not venturing out anywhere!
PS: click on the pics to see what is really going on (angry snowflakes will show up)... can't believe things look so tame, it's HELL out there. Ugh. News story click here.

Wimpy storm?
I dunno if it will end up being that bad... I mean it's Saturday afternoon so it should be half over, unless it blows and snows for another 24 hours. The salty roads are pretty melty and it's not too cold, so am praying the stuff won't stick around for too long... althoug the 2-week forecast is fucking bleak: way under normal temps and more snow, snow, snow for weeks on end.
Tell me I am stuck in one giant meteorological nightmare and if I drink loads of alcohol it will all melt away? Please!
Tonight we spring the clocks forward so there goes an hour of sleep... is that why I got up past 11am this morning... he he and I am so doing it again tomorrow! Gotta fill up the sleep reserves I taxed all week.
If only hot sexy Vegas was in my bed.
I wouldn't get out of it all weekend!
*****drags ass off couch after a looong nap*****
It's fucking horrendous outside!!! What happened?! I can't see the building across the street, it's a white-out! Holy shit... now I'm scared to take the dogs out later as I promised them. Crap. Crap. And crap.
There is going to be a motherload of snow to clean up when this all stops. And funeral homes are going to have their hands full with people who just could not take one more hit.
*sobs*

PS on ex-lax day
It's too ridiculous... I got in the car after minimal shoveling and golly be: the stereo is working now, after having been blacked out since Sunday night. Lady luck, marry me!
No screaming kids in the crackhead supermarket either, and no lineups... but as I was at the cash paying up, I turned around and suddenly there were lines snaking pretty far back and a baby started crying. I left *very* fast.
Mouahahahah!
Oh and it started snowing about 5 minutes after I got home. I kid you not :-D
Forgot to buy a lottery ticket though, and feel kinda bad about that. I'm thinking the way things have been going, I would have won a truckload of cash... do you think it would be too late tomorrow?

Ever had an Ex-Lax day?
You know... when a whole bunch of stuff just suddenly unblocks all at once and then life just seems that much closer to being complete? Not that it ever can be complete since it is a work of art in progress, but you know what I mean, yes?
I finally took the plunge and got melonhead's neutering appointment for the 17th. Been wanting to have it done for a long time but was on the fence about it - decision now taken, feel very good about it, will not keep the furry plums in a jar.
Vegas had a phone interview today for this new job he's applying for and he thinks it went very well... we'll know next week if he gets it or not. Pleeeease send us all the good karma vibes you can spare? Cuz if this happens... his move here from the UK will be 5 months sooner than planned. And y'all want Techno to be a happy doll, oui?
*happy dance*
But the best thing just happened a few minutes ago... Wedding date is confirmed for 8/8/2008, the exact day we wanted!! We got the LAST spot available so talk about timing, once again! wooofreakinghooooo!
Am mentally ready for the two-day blizzard that starts tonight, have an open bottle of wine at home and two happy doggies to keep me company, when I get home in a couple of hours I need to shovel the car out of the snowbank cuz of course the city is plowing the streets... just before another foot of snow gets shat on our heads.
Bah. Need to get groceries anyways.
In regards to Martini's awesome post, it is becoming quite clear to me that when when you seriously put your mind to changing your life for the better - magic starts happening. I'm almost afraid that these snowballing events are a figment of my imagination but no... they are for real.
Vegas keeps telling me that I deserve to be happy and have everything I want and dream about, but that these dreams can only start to come true when *I* believe in them, when I believe in myself and stay true to who I am.
Never settle.
Never compromise.
Never sell yourself short.
Never doubt that your dreams are possible.
...and never doubt that the universe has giant, awesome plans in store for you. All you need to do is be strong enough to open that Pandora's box.
Reach for the stars, baby!

A treat for the girls
You, yes you girls! (and gay-boys)
Tomorrow I'll post some eye-candy for you in my Snapshots blog - for now I'll just mention lake, sunshine, six-pack abs and a young hot stud... who happens to be my little bro. Straight men need not look unless they want an urge to do situps and yoga. *grin*
Anything to escape this biting bitch of a winter. Anything.
Martini, you'll be glad to know I gave in to the call of fermented grapes, hell it's PMS on top of everything so it was either that or slice my wrists with a plastic spoon.
I need to see an orthodontist. Seriously, this one front tooth is getting more and more out of place every year and it's been driving me nuts for over a decade, pretty soon it will never show that I had braces as a tween. Call me Bunny, hold the carrots. One dentist told me it's no use at my age, that tooth would probably always drift cuz of the way I speak and tongue pressures during sleep and all. WTF?
Anybody here have advice on this? Not that any orthodontists are reading this blog, just would like anecdotal stories. Durr.

I have only one thing to say:
3rd giant snowstorm in a week is expected to slam us on Saturday - there is no mercy on our souls this year. I can't shovel anymore. I can't climb snowbanks anymore. I can't put on my snowsuit and boots and hat and gloves and scarf anymore. I can't see this fucking snow anymore. I can't not have a car to drive anymore.

Random swirly thoughts in my head
Maybe if I write them down I'll be able to sleep tonight?
My back hurts so much it's hard to breathe - what I would do to have a baby elephant chiro/masseuse walk all over me, man I need a good spine crack and muscle rub. All I have are useless drugs, bleh.
Perhaps it's to do with this horrible, nasty psychotic weather that saw fit to crap on our heads today? I'm serious. A 1000-mile wide hail-and-snow storm blew over this part of the continent, nobody escaped and boy are alot of people ever snapping.
And... there is another one headed our way for the weekend.
I am _so_ stocking up on wine. Sigh.
Do you believe in destiny? Or are events just a string of coincidences that sometimes get cheeky enough to align themselves like dominoes? I again got quite freaked out tonight by another "coincidence" that is paving the way to life with Vegas with gold.
Seriously. This shit is spooky.
We were talking today about the possibility of him moving here alot sooner than originally anticipated because maybe, just maybe, a job has opened up for him in the company. A colleague quit on Monday and coincidentally, Vegas is the best replacement.
Then the issue of lodging came up... should we live together right away? Not really because this place is too small and it would be nice to start our new life together in a new place where there are no memories of a former life. It would just not feel right and, after 8.5 years here... it is time to move on.
But!!!
Just try to find a nice appartment for rent in the city that is close to work, in this lovely neighborhood, big enough for the lot of us, renovated, with a balcony and on the top floor of the building, clean, affordable and allows two big dogs - good luck! It's easier to find a snowsuit on a nudist beach!
My dogsitter took the kids today so I had to get them after work and while chatting about all of this, he mentioned that the couple on the top floor of his building were probably moving out in a month or so and hey, the place happens to meet every requirement we have and then some... Um, just give me the damn feather so I can knock myself over, mmkay?
Seriously. This is just too much - why are doors just suddenly being flung open like this? Every blockage we could have is being blown away with a solution, and a nice one too.
I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong - just need to keep breathing and realise that sometimes life is effortless, to keep balance with all those other times when we struggle just to keep going one more day.
For now, these are all just dreams classified in the "wow that would be awesome!" file - if they happen? w00t! If they don't? Something better will come along and that is just what is meant to be. We are the rivers, not the rocks. And off I flow now to a hot shower and a good night's sleep.
I wish you all one too.

This guy is insane!
Steve Smith (Red Green Show) builds an all-wheel drive with his usual flair and duct tape... oh man. Has to be seen to be believed. So sad the show ended in 2006 after a 15-year run - but thank goodness for youtube where alot of awesome skits are to be found and enjoyed!
Oh, and he blushed! he he
You all made Vegas feel warm and fuzzy inside (instead of just outside) with your lovely comments to the photo I posted in the Snapshots blog. Awe!
I resisted embarassing him completely by posting a *super hot* pic of him, though. Or I might have gotten into trouble... not that he can spank me from across the ocean or anything... *pauses to reconsider for a second*
Just messin' :-D
Am on day 3 of my self-imposed "no alcohol for at least a week" resolution. And ya know what? I don't miss it at all! Being back to the routine of more exercise and healthier food is my way of coping with Life Sans Vegas - need to be hot for next visit, reeerrrr!
Fack I'm tired. Time to go lose some Scrabulous games.

Death and taxes!
Or rather, death BY taxes! crummy gov'ment paperwork, mumble mumble... Do any of you fill in your own or do you have an accountant tackle the mess?
I decided to make an effort this year and plow through it, figured hey! I have the simplest situation possible so it should be a breeze, why pay an accountant when I have a free evening to do this, plus I'm not dumb so why not use my brain?
Ohhh my head is spinning... two gov'ment tax forms to fill in (federal and provincial) each of which include a stack of schedules, calculation grids, endless blabla - you name it. Blecch. And I've only filled out the practice forms, still have to pen in the ones that need to be sent in, attach labels, receipts, tax slips and all...
There is good news though!
I do get a refund again this year! w00t! Hopefully I calculated right - it's about the same as last year's so I figure all is OK. And I feel good to have taken the "harder path", for some reason - I must be a masochist.
Actually I am a masochist cuz that refund is being directly funnelled right back into savings, which will help guarantee that next year I get another refund... la dee da. The day Vegas and I retire and buy our sweet house in the countryside, it will all have been worth it.
Gawd, my back is killing me - dreaming of a massage, oooo!
*stares into space dreamily*

Sappy post and photo of Vegas is up on my Bubblegum Snapshots blog, go check it out if you're curious. And yes it's artistic, just like all the other photos on there, so it might not be what you expect - is it ever with me? *grin*

Started a new poll, get yer votes in!
Cuz everyone loves to give their feedback, right?
Right! :-)
Today got quite traumatic towards the end of the afternoon, and am still not sure how to digest all that is going down at work at the moment. The stars seem to be aligning to get Vegas here much faster than we had imagined... but then the pessimist in me says "they're just toying with us and only bad things will happen".
We will know by the end of the month what is planned, until then we sit on pins and needles and shit, is it ever nerve-wracking... cuz it will be a "make it or break it" time.
Pleeeease send us all the good vibes you can muster!
Hail the good karma joojoo gods!
Oh, and we had loads of rain today, everything is melting yet the city saw fit to plow all the roads of the slush piles, guess it had money to throw around from the winter budget eh? Riiight.
Asses.
I had to find a place to park my car faaar from here cuz there is nothing available anywhere, and my 2006 vehicle saw fit to kill its stereo - how uncool is that? Fucking hell. I have to check to see if the fuse is blown or something this weekend (cuz I need daylight for that and it's dark when I come home from work), failing that then it's a trip to the garage *again*.
Am I driving a lemon or is this something that happens?!

I'm OK :-)
Seriously... am keeping it all together. Just feeling like a sheet of gyprock, that's all... flat, gray, dull, stiff as hell. And extremely tired... must somehow plow through this day so I can crash early tonight, maybe it would help to get some coffee or something?
Feck I feel boring - sorry guys.
I put up a few new pics in my Snapshots blog, if any of you want some refreshing winter snow to stare at. If not, don't go there or you might want to hit somebody with a shovel. I sure do.
Lunch: leftover butter chicken with rice and broccoli
Appetite: zero
In other news:
In February, a court in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, sentenced Briton Keith Brown, 43, to the standard four-year minimum term in prison for violating the country's extreme "zero tolerance" drug laws, even though the only drug found was a "speck" (0.003 grams) of cannabis caught in the tread of his shoe and discovered only because the Dubai airport uses sophisticated drug-detection equipment.
Previously, a Canadian man was imprisoned for "possession" of three poppy seeds (from a bread roll he had eaten at Heathrow Airport in London) that had fallen into his clothing as he prepared for a flight to Dubai. [The Independent (London), 2-20-08]
Remind me to never visit Dubai, and pass the special poppy-seed brownies please!

And so the waiting begins, again
And nights bright days when dreams
do show thee to me.
~William Shakespeare, "Sonnet XLIII"
Can't breathe
He's packing right now... am driving him to the airport in an hour.
Oh shit.
I can feel a horrendous anxiety attack sinking its claws into me.
Have no idea how I will survive this evening - the empty space on the couch glaring at me, seeing the place in the bathroom where his cosmetics bag was all week, washing the dishes we used at lunch, trying to sleep in the bed that smells like him.
Feel like I am being kicked in the gut, just want to curl up in a fetal position and rock myself to sleep while trying not to drown in tears.
For all of you wanting love in your life? This is the ugly side nobody ever talks about. The dark side of the moon.
Yes it is worth it but fuck, it hurts.
A lot.

Notice the pattern?
December 1st: snowstorm.
January 1st: snowstorm.
February 1st: snowstorm.
March 1st: snowstorm.
Mother Nature thinks this is funny or something, what a big nasty bitch. "I'm gonna strip away all shreds of hope clinging to your soul for wishes of spring" - yeah yeah, I get it - now fuck off!
We were supposed to make the drive to see my dad yesterday but I am glad I didn't take any chances on the road. Vegas flies home (well, his other home...) tomorrow so we couldn't afford to be stranded out in the boonies. I can only be so devious, eh?
This LDR thing better not stretch out until October or I will seriously lose my mind. It gets harder to say goodbye every time.
Kay, we're suiting up now like yetis and braving the blizzard cuz the kids need their morning romp, wish I could take photos to prove my point but the snow would ruin my camera. Rats.
PS: last night was a blast, and it wasn't because of the beer :-D
PPS: I want to hibernate until April, anyone have a recipe?
