Divine!

Research tells us fourteen out of any ten individuals likes chocolate.
~Sandra Boynton

Drum(stick) roll, please!

Wow - that was a lot of rain and it's not over yet... Everywhere you walk you hear squish squish squish, how unpleasant. The coop runs are stinky and muddy and two of the buildings have sported leaks so the bedding's all funked up.

Let's not talk about my hair.

Yey summer!

Oh, and yesterday morning around 6am I brilliantly managed to wrench my back with some clever bed maneuver (my duvet keeps bunching up in the wrong places - not funny), I've been in horrible pain since then... stupid muscle spasms. Anyways. That, coupled with the crappy weather, got me thinking, and working, and plotting...

I guess rainy days are for being reproductive?

Without further ado, I present you The Chicken Diaries - treat them gently, for they could quickly become one of your best "read with morning coffee/tea/whatever" buddies!

Or so I hope :)

I had to sacrifice two other blogs to get this one up and running so no cryin'! lol

Happy Hump Day, peeps!

The Chicken Diaries

I've been getting quite a few requests to start a chicken blog, of all things! Whodathunkit? People interested in chicken drahma and nothing but chicken drahma? LOL!

I kinda want to but I've already got so many blogs, most of which I only rarely post to...

Laziness.

I gots it.

What if I posted more flock stuff on here, would that do? Or would that be too invasive..? Awe, I dunno anymore. Chickens are a big part of my life but they're not all my life, you know?

Maybe I should put a poll up on the issue.

Speaking of polls, go vote on the current one "just because"! ;-)

True story: last night I went to check on Casper, our 4-month old gentle giant roo that I transferred to the big girls' flock as Sunshine went to live in a castle with many lovely ladies-in-waiting (I have too many roosters and it's driving the neighbors crazy, I have to re-home a few... sigh).

Well. Hormones set his brain on fire overnight - suddenly Casper isn't my sweet, friendly, cuddly boy anymore, oh no - he attacked me twice, drawing blood on my leg both times!!
Yeah, this boy here:

Stupid testosterone!

I've never had any roo act of the sort, it's horrible! I have a "zero tolerance" policy here on aggressive animals and fuck rehab, I have too many roosters as it is and hate feeling fearful and untrusting towards one of them.

Casper's going to be huge when he's mature, his dad is one big mean mofo (I just found that out a few days ago) so it's not boding well for this fella. He will be re-homed as soon as I can find a proper place for him - some people have the experience to deal with dominant beasts and actually want aggressive roos as they make awesome flock guardians. It's just not for me.

Anyways. That's the latest drahma, if you don't count the massive rains and flooding we got overnight. And will get all week. Yep. Rain until Friday, woohoo.

*cries*

So much to do, so little mojo. There's a crack in the car's windshield that needs to be fixed asap. Flower beds need weeding. Floors need cleaning, baskets of dirty clothes need laundering. Groceries need to be fetched. The deck needs staining, which isn't going to happen unless things dry up. Time for napping?

On wimmins

No woman wants to see herself too clearly.
~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook, 1966

Planting the seeds of yum

So at the fruit store yesterday I saw something that cracked me up.

Remember my sink full of fresh rhubarb stalks from our garden? Well, at the store they were selling cello-wrapped pieces so I grabbed a package to examine it.

Are you sitting down?

Four stalks... $2.75. :-o

You hear that, Vegas? Last year you razed and mowed over a big cash crop - LOL.

Seriously, what are these people smoking...!

I suddenly had a brand new reverence for the huge bag of rhubarb sitting in our fridge, so I got to it with baking that crumble! Mmm did it ever turn out yummy... I could have used more apples and less honey and brown sugar as the rhubarb wasn't very sour but Vegas said it was perfect, my sweet tooth must be out of order.

***** pause for ode *****

My sweet little Sunshine went to live with a wonderful new family this morning... We have too many roos and have to re-home a few, it breaks my heart to pieces, specially for this boy as we went through so much together... I hope they all get as lucky as Sunshine did, he went to live the life of a spoiled king but it was still very difficult to let him go. It would have been selfish to keep him so I just have to get over it... :-(
Beautiful boy
Sweet as soft sunlight
I loved you the moment I held you in my arms
Fragile, sick, not knowing
The comfort of human touch
Through thick and thin
Heartbreak, long hours in the night
Not knowing if you would make it
To the next morning
But you rose
And you bloomed
And you are perfect
Loved, now and forever

The colors of country life

Life is back to normal today, thankfully!

Got my shopping done this morning (chicken food, dog food, human food... in that order, LOL) and scored big-time at the fruit store: I asked one of the employees what they did with all the produce they couldn't sell and he said they threw it away :-o

So I said I was looking for scraps for my flock and he said "Oh, lots of people come in for that - here, we have cases you can take -" and then showed me what was really at the end of the proverbial rainbow... huge boxes of veggie and fruit trimmings, ready to be either carted away by crazies people like me or be disposed of in containers, which the stores have to pay for so they're happy to get rid of the stuff in other ways.

*choir of angels*

I wish I had known about this months ago, it would have saved me a ton of money! It took me about an hour to pack a bunch of bags for the freezer and to puree a few portions with my shitty food processor but I'm well stocked now, and I can get boxes anytime I want :-D

Seriously, there's glorious stuff in there: fresh lettuce leaves of all kinds, herbs, cabbage and cauliflower trimmings, all manners of fruit, bits and bobs of veggie bits - ah, I'm so chuffed!

I live for cheap thrills :-D

When I get my horse someday, it's going to be as spoiled as my chikkins - he he. Speaking of horses, let's start the slideshow since I have too many photos laying around and this is my way of "disposing" of them, LOL!
We have refreshing greens, hues of cream and chocolate browns:

Vibrant reds and snowy whites:

A spectacular array of blues and greys:

Golden yellows and teals:

Dazzling fushias and purples:

...and you can even eat the rainbow, if you wish!
(this is not one of my photos, in case you wondered!)
Hey, it's Friday! Even if I've lost all sense of time, it's still hard not to like a Friday. Vegas is officially on vacation for the next 10 days - woooHOOO! - and oh, life is sweet. I is happy again.

Now, what's next on my list... ah yes! Weeding!

Byyyyyeeee!

Not up, not down... just coasting somewhere in the middle

Alternate post title: "Mleh"

I think I now know why I like to keep myself so busy all day long.

Today is a civic holiday so all the businesses are closed, the weather has been quite rainy, hot, muggy, stormy and all that jazz, and I woke up exhausted so I decided to have a forced-break from normal routine and take it slooooow. Vegas had some work he had to get done so I was by myself for most of the day.

And you know what?

I nearly bored myself to tears.

Basic chores such as caring for the flocks and dogs kept me sane, and despite the sticky mugginess I still managed to hoover part of the house (in capris and a bra, no less) in order to not go mad.

But shit, how dull.

Nothing on TV, nothing on the internet, didn't feel like reading or anything - my brain and body just flat-lined and loneliness has engulfed me like a foggy cloud.

Pity party for one, please!
Merrr.

I'm just glad this day is almost over so life can get back to normal again. Ticking chores off the list, enjoying the sense of satisfaction that working hard gives me. Getting stuff done, whatever that stuff is. Feeling the ache in my muscles, wiping the sweat off my brow. Not feeling like a useless pile of crap.

What can I say?

I'm a do-er, not a thinker.

Always been and probably always will be.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary...

...how does your garden grow?

(for the sake of the story, let's pretend I'm Mary!)

There's war going on. A weed and bush war... and so far I've been losing, big time! Sigh. I try to keep up with the dogs, the flock, the house and the greedy lawn but the gardens are giving me a headache in their ambition to morph overnight into giant piles of crap.

I've already dispatched one "garden", ie gave the nice plants to a neighbor and relocated the rest, then ripped the weeds, tilled the soil, topped with fertilizer and seeded with grass. It's growing in nicely and I'm so pleased, it really opens up our yard space into something pleasant and useable!

But!!

There are so many other gardens that need the same treatment, I don't know where to begin. I can't keep up with the weeding. And let's not even talk about the vineyard in the front of our house... Major headache and even worse embarrassment. But anyways.
Take for example one of the North gardens:

Nobody sees this pile of crap besides us,
so come autumn it's being dispatched, baby.
I can't wait!

Thistles. Thorns. Dandelions. Bracken. Spiders. Slugs.
Invasive, fast-growing weeds. Stinky shrubs. Wild flowers.
Creeping vine weeds. Garden snakes. Poison oak.
Welcome to hell!

After two long sweaty hours of vigorous weeding
and then cleaning up the mess, it still looks like garbage
because there are only two plants worth anything in there.

Look at all those bare spots - nasty!
Can't wait to tear it all up and make it pretty with smooth lawn.
Maybe I'll do it sooner than later, hmmm!

I'd rather keep busy with the flower beds and lawn that give this place nice curb appeal and nuke the stuff that's just a pain in the ass. Maintaining 12 acres isn't as dreamy as it sounds, you know! Says the woman with burning, itchy hives on her arms from poison oak and other assorted nasty weeds that choke up her life.

OK time to go collect the eggs, walk the dogs and then hop in the shower for a well-deserved scrub. I was going to get groceries since tomorrow is a provincial holiday and everything is closed, but screw it. We'll manage with what we have for a day, shopping can wait.

Wooo! Liberating! :-D

Roooooo-barb!

We gots it! Yey!

Normally I wouldn't get so excited about a sink full of freshly cut rhubarb, but the fact that it came from our own garden gets me all jiggly happy!

Last July, shortly after we moved here, Vegas ran over the patch with the lawn tractor so forget that crop (thanks, dear husband) - LOL! This year he was warned to stay well away from the only edible thing growing on this land, and if I saw the dogs take a pee on my precious little crop I would cut off their wieners.

It worked!

The rhubarb grew like a charm, only needing an occasional weeding and voilà: a feast for slugs!

*those damn pests, grrrr*

So today I had to go cut the biggest stalks or we would lose everything: the big green leaves look like swiss cheese and the plants are all droopy :-(
I managed to collect about a quarter of the crop:

I don't know what will happen to the rest of the rhubarb. I can't say I'm too fussed about it right now as I have a giant bag of chopped stalks in the fridge ready to be transformed into a rhubarb-apple crumble (...what Vegas wants... LOL) and another big bag in the freezer for i-don't-know-what. Not too sure what one does with so much rhubarb. Um.

Tell me, what grows in your garden?

PS: Vegas, quit messing up my polls! You're allowed ONE vote only and I don't care that you have three computers, we all know you voted for the boobies - three times! LOL

Snippets of a simple life

If I love taking photos so much, I figured you guys would love seeing them!

It sure helps with blogging, as most of the time I can only post in the evening while juggling TV watching, email, facebook, dogs and keeping an eye out on the chickens. I'm tired! My brain is smooshy and won't go deeper than a puddle on the pavement!

Photos = forgiveness :-D

Our two akitas have bloomed since Dante has been re-homed. We hadn't realized how much they were repressed the past 10 months, how much space and energy the little one took up in our daily life. I feel so bad for not noticing... Sigh.
All is OK now, life is back to "normal".
Maika's reaction to my feet?
You caption it! LOL!

Happy Dakotah, wishing the world
was made of cookies -
he lives for food and licking people to death!
Nom nom nom!

I'm so enjoying this summer. Yes it's hot, yes it's muggy, yes it's raining but... For the first time in almost 20 years I'm not suck in an office 40 hours a week selling my soul for a paycheck (or working 80 hours a week on intensive home renovations, like last summer). That's not to say I'm lazing about picking mosquitoes out of my hair, I'm working my butt off in a hundred ways - but on my own schedule, in my own way.

Every day I wake up, afraid it was all a dream. Luckily Vegas is there to give me a good pinch (ow!) to prove it's all real! Yey!

On a parting note, our outside thermometer lost the plot a couple of months ago.

Seriously!

Hope you're all having a marvelous week, are you planning any exciting vacations (or staycations) soon? Do tell!

Internet, I love thee!

I have a bit of a fantasy lesbeen crush on Olivia Wilde. You know, the one who plays Thirteen in House, she was on the OC before?

Yeah. She's soooo hot and glamorous. I could gaze at her pretty face and stunning eyes for hours on end - how nature made such perfection I'll never know:

But wait, is it really all nature? Is she that stunning or is it aided by expertly applied makeup and the right lights? Do I really need to feel super dumpy compared to her? Hmmm. Let's see what the internet coughs up since you'll never get any answers on TV.
Olivia with makeup but wait,
are those a hundred little pimples I see? :-o

And here's what the person behind the makeup artists,
hairdressers and stylists really looks like on a regular Jo day:

Hmmm. Not quite as glamorous eh?

Fantasy not crushed, no worries - she's a dog mom so a huge bonus in my book! I love her normal figure, lack of fake boobies and giant forehead (ok kidding on that one). I still think she's super hot.

I just would love, for one day, to be in her shoes in that dressing room, to be all dolled up by pros and see what that looks like on the other side of the lens.

Then I'd go home, wash it all off, don some dog-walking attire and get going with real life.

I wonder if she likes chickens?

*grin*

(on this note, peeps, why not cast your votes on the new poll?)

Really?

Infomercials crack me up.

Not just for the dumbest products on earth, but for the "acting"! Take a peek and tell me you didn't burst out laughing at least once!

I mean... Really?

He he. I totally missed my calling :-D

It's scorching hot today, nice and sunny too. Until the sun slants a bit to give us some shade, I'm stuck inside the house... My arms are starting to look like chocolate sticks while the rest of me still glows in the dark. Yeah, not really sexy.

Guess I'll get on with hoovering and washing grimy floors... Ah yes, my life is soooo glamorous!

On a parting note... Who the hell invented the concept of clowns, anyways? It's not sane! Grown-up men (and sometimes women) walking around in funny clothing with giant shoes, grotesquely painted white pasty faces, smeared with blood-red lips, drunkard noses and electrocuted wigs?

Is this supposed to be funny or entertaining? Really?

So on that note... what do you think of the circus?

On hunger

Society comprises two classes:
those who have more food than appetite,
and those who have more appetite than food.
~Sébastien-Roch Nicholas de Chamfort, Maximes

Left to my own devices...

...I could pretty much sleep the day away :-o

Vegas woke me up at 8:15am this morning, usual time, except instead of getting up and starting my day I fell right back asleep until he shook me awake again an hour later. Crap! I hate oversleeping! Specially when the morning is sunny and scorching hot and the flocks are locked in their stuffy coops!

I really need to get to bed earlier than midnight, this is ridiculous.

Not having a "real job" is making me feel guilty for not slaving in other ways 40 hours a week, you know? And I'm not even a practicing catholic, LOL!

Anyhoo.

Time to slather on the SPF and get busy with the gardening before we get swallowed up by weeds - I'm about to take the scythe to the flower beds and be done with it!

Happy Friday, peeps :)

Now doesn't that make you smile?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Woo! I gone done it!

One big project checked off my list... The feathered teenagers have been successfully moved to their new coop, which they seem to love!

*pats self on aching back*

One more big move left and then by the weekend everyone should be all set for the summer. Yey! I do not want to think about autumn yet, when the runs will have to be painstakingly taken down and everyone moved to the stables for the winter... UGGGH.

Instead, I will focus on planning Vegas' birthday, which is tomorrow.

Gifts are all purchased and a few need wrapping, cake is planned for tomorrow afternoon and then we'll cook a nice dinner together, have some wine, take it easy... It's supposed to rain so no BBQ and we live too far to have his friends over for dinner so I guess he'll have to settle with little ol'me.

Yeah, I know... I feel sorry for him too! :-/

I just realized I forgot to put deodorant on today.

Oh gross.

I can't stand smelly or dirty people - it's like personal hygiene is an option for some folks, you know? It's flipping offensive to have to endure these slobs in tight public spaces, christ in any public space. Really. You can afford a pack of cigarettes a day but not a bar of soap for the month?
Case in point:

'Nuff said.

On that note, I'm off to fix my deo problem, make the bed with freshly-laundered sheets and then go shovel some chicken poop. In that order. Do I rock, or what? :-D

Butter than love

The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove
than the hunger for bread.
~Mother Teresa

Wooo ossum!

It's warm and sunny with a slight dry breeze today so I can finally tackle the fencing for the new coop! Yey! If all goes well I can move the flocks to their new summer lodgings by tomorrow, which will end up saving me a ton of work (and cleaning hours) asap - so happy!

Cuz it looks like another crappy rainy summer ahead, where the grass grows two feet in a week and is impossible to manage. Rain = hustling birds in and out of shelter and I can't be bothered anymore. This way it's all automatic!

You know what?

We don't really care anymore about the spastic grass.

Yep. Screw the Joneses, we're not keeping up with them.

So liberating!

One project at a time. Today it's the new coop and maybe a bit of hand-mowing in strategic places if I have any energy left, while tomorrow I have some shopping and cleaning to do in preparation for Vegas' birthday on Thursday. Yeah, time for laundry... again... but there's cake in two days so woohoo!

The little blue pills are doing their job, I feel like I'm starting to get some sort of sleep again. I just needed to adjust the dosage so I'm not stoned out of my brain the day after.

**pause to make a phone call**

I just ordered four more layers for mid-September, directly from the breeder! Two reds and two whites, which will ensure a good steady supply of nice big eggs for the winter when most breeds - and older hens - slow down or stop laying altogether. I already have one girl, Dizzy, from this breeder and she is amazing (her sister Emma got murdered in the coop raid two weeks ago, I'm still so sad and pissed about that).

I expect to lose one or two girls by the autumn (disease, illness, accidents, etc) so the flock numbers should remain more or less steady this way.

What can I say? It's not just a hobby, it's a passion :-)

Wishing you all a lovely Tuesday, is it sunny in your corner of the world?

When there's nothing left but tea

I guess days like these are for recuperating from hot sweaty weekend grunt work... It's been pissing cold rain all day, the flocks are sequestered inside their living quarters and nobody's impressed, LOL! Ah well, what can ya do...

Drink lots of hot tea?

I just ate a whole kitkat... oh well.

For dinner tonight, I got us a lovely fresh salmon fillet that I'll grill with lemon and herbs and top that with wilted (organic fresh baby) spinach with a side of fresh steamed asparagus.

Trying to make up for eating cereal and assorted crap the past few days :-o
Besides...
All part of being a good matriarch. Now then, where did I put those styrofoam dinner plates and plastic forks... and the bottle of dry gin... the jar of pimento-stuffed olives...

*ew*

OMG I just saw the worst commercial for Huggies diapers... The slogan?

"The coolest you'll look pooping your pants"

I'm not kidding, google it! :-o

Why those companies aren't pushing for environmentally friendly re-usable cloth diapers, I'll never know... Landfills are chock-full of shit-encrusted diapers, come ON people! Make an effort here! Who cares how cool you look pooping your pants? You still stink!

Sigh.

In other non-related news, it's my mom's birthday today so please send along your wishes, she's the best mom in the world, my best friend and I love her to bits!

To lighten up this cold, grey, rainy Monday:
A cool choon, served up with a side of funny kitch:

Now thems are some sexay outfits! LOL!

Wishing you a non-poop filled Monday night, go on and eat that slice of chocolate cake and drink that second glass of wine, lord knows we need the boost. Do it for meeeeeeeeee!

Brain cud

I have this recurring idea that I just can't keep on the shelf any longer... Vegas is on board and if the logistics work out, if we can make it fit in our budget...

We'll maybe add a horse to our family by next winter.

I know! A horse! :-o

We've been here a year now and have no plans to move anytime soon, we have the acreage, the stables, all the setup we need as well as the precious help of the former owner of the property who has her horse boarded here - she would be thrilled to have a riding partner, she has extra equipment I could borrow and she would show me everything I need to know to make this life-long dream finally come true.

OMG! A horse!

There are still many considerations to address, mainly monthly costs and time/work involved but if we make this happen and the experience is good, Vegas would be game to get a horse of his own next summer and start riding again. We have endless miles of trails starting right in our back yard here. And if it doesn't work out, we can always re-home the horse.

If you don't try you'll never know, right?

Just like with my chickens.

Anyways, we're not ready to get involved before late autumn, at the earliest, so this pipe dream may fizz out by then... I hope not, though. We'll see what happens.
Our two current boarders, Maggie and Black.

Life's pretty crazy right now. Vegas resigned from his job a few days ago in order to focus on new and exciting ventures (woohoo!) so the future is a big unknown at this point - scary, to be honest, but what is life without risk and passion?

I love seeing my husband happy and whatever he chooses to do, I have his back.

We cannot do anything but succeed :-)

All right, time to get ready for bed... I'm sick and tired of choppy, broken-up bits of bad sleep so I'm back on my nightly dose of amitriptyline pills - crossing fingers the treatment works... Stupid neck arthritis, grrr! Pain, you fuck off OK!

Peace, love and ice cream for everyone!

Scraping the bottom of the brain pan

Good lord, I must have started and erased this post half a dozen times already.

Nothing I write feels interesting nor does it reflect my lift. It's like words are locked inside my head, hiding behind fuzzy headaches, to-do lists and and the panic that time is melting away faster than butter in a fire.

Life these days revolves around family and farm life - I recently found evidence Vegas is a true farmer no matter how much he protests, LOL!
We do enjoy a good laugh... ;-)

I spend my days cleaning stuff, cutting and weeding and pulling stuff, fixing stuff and trying to get this place to look like a home. Most jobs are menial and quite pointless as they immediately need re-doing time after time, but yesterday's endeavor was freaking satisfying!
Yey! Job crossed off my list after a whole year! :)

Dang, it feels good to see some progress!

Today's drizzly, rainy, sleepy. I slept okay-ish but am super foggy-brained, I can't seem to wake up or get any mojo going. Even after coffee. I may just be getting old. May.

Or I may have overdone it a bit yesterday. May.

Tomorrow I get to dress up in civilized clothes and go shopping - June is a month of birthdays all around and I'll be damned if I'm late with cards and gifts again this year! There's my mom, then Vegas, then my dad, then father's day, then my stepmom... and that's just family!

Today's for feeling drunk without drinking, tired without sleeping (wait - that's not right!) - I have to scrub the coop walls as the stink is getting a bit much, hoover the house (4200 sqf of hoovering, ugh), pay some bills, organize paperwork as my office desk is a mess, brush the coat-blowing akitas and make something nice for dinner - there's a bag of baby potatoes that needs to be cooked but I've no idea what to make with it... Scalloped taters? Tater n'cheese quiche? Tater soup? :-/

Bah. I'll figure it out.

Leaving you with a giggle!

A guy walks into a bar and notices two pieces of meat on the ceiling. He asks the bar man for a pint and the bar man asks, "Don't you want to participate in our competition?"

The guy asks "What's it all about?" The barman informs him, "All you have to do is get those pieces of meat off the ceiling and you get a free pint! If you fail you have to buy the whole pub a drink."

The guy replies, "No I don't think so mate... Those steaks are far too high!"

It's that time again...

New poll is up, go cast your vote if not already done! :-)

Short news wrap-up:

Dante is doing super great with his new family! We're getting regular updates with tons of pics and seeing his fat happy mug is a big relief. He is loved, spoiled rotten and finally in the right place. We're all so very happy! The mood here since he left has been better for everyone, too - the akitas are more relaxed and so are we. Best decision ever.

I brought home three beautiful new girls yesterday, got them from a friend of mine who was sweet to part with them. They're still a bit shy and getting used to their new home so I'll post pics in a couple of weeks when they've settled in nicely. They're all just over a year old and have been laying since late autumn so we're all geared up for lots of eggs - yey! And I have two others coming next week or so, more for beauty than for eggs but a flock needs a mix of both!

They will never replace the girls I lost last week but they do help to heal the wounds...

Finally, as promised, a few more pics from my short getaway two weeks ago, hope you enjoy! This will my my last post of sea pics, then on to new adventures... They all click bigger for details!
My trusty wellies enjoying some sun by the sea :-D

I found a rocky boat on the shore - how cool is that?

Moi in the car, breathing in the fresh salty air, aka "hair wrecker":

Next town over there are some cool shops,
many focused on selling local art:

Mom stretching during a rocky shore hike:

Tide's going down, down, down!

Mom loves finding cool stuff,
such as this rock with long seaweed hair! LOL!

The sea is her own artist:

Sunset delights at low tide...

Driving to the next town for dinner,
but it was Memorial Day so everything was closed!

Rock, seagull, mist, waves - what more could you want?

Not sure what was going on here, but we do have fun - silly girls!

Shadooooooooo!

Mom makes the best snacks! Little crispy cracker bowls filled with
cream cheese, fresh Matane shrimp, cucumber and avocado,
sprinkled with fresh lemon juice... Divine!

Side view from the camper's deck:

Abandoned eel traps:

I love me a sweet rocky shore at low tide...

...and more on a cold foggy morning...

This says it all!

Time to go start my long To Do list, gotta catch up on stuff while it's not raining - yesterday the power went out at 9am and still wasn't back when I left after lunch to visit some friends and get my new girls - I got home at 5pm so there went my day... Ugggh!

Happy Tuesday, peeps - be good!
