Look at the size of those balls!
Cold snap!
Talk about freeze-your-lungs weather: eeek! Certainly never boring around here... the only problem with these wildly fluctuating temps is that it requires a huge variety of clothing just to cope, and that eats up my tiny closet space like it's nobody's business. i open the door and sweaters fall on my head, piece of shit closet! someday... big walk-in... dreamy!
Got to work later today as the plumber had to work on the building's hot-water tanks. I'm lucky to have one of those landlords who fix problems *before* they happen. imagine -20C outside, you step in for a nice hot shower to thaw out, and bam! midway through, with your head full of shampoo, you get pelted with ice-water. bet the neighbors two blocks over would hear the screams, he he he!
...(later... ) Just got back from lunch with a coworker, needed comforting junk-food (small poutine). it's ok, i'll balance it off with a big fresh fruit salad later on and a light veggie dinner of sorts, + more exercise in the snow piles with the doggies... am trimming up lately even if not doing anything different so i'm allowed this "sorrow food". still super-bummed about losing my boss. Any excuse to eat poutine, perhaps? Something to ponder :)
wow. boring post today, so far... that's what 4 hours of sleep does to a person.

Letting it all sink in...
Finally sitting down with a glass of wine, trying to absorb this long day... some random thoughts:
My boss is leaving the company, i'm still shell-shocked. i want to puke. it's only starting to sink in now how different life at work will be in two weeks... he is my mentor, my friend, my confidante, i can't imagine a work-day without him around to inspire me. Fucking fuck fuck!
Why is it so damn dry in this appartment? i need to cream my hands every 30 minutes, my dogs whistle when they breathe, i left a peeled orange on the table for 20 minutes and now it's too dry to eat. yet you leave an open bag of chips on the counter and a few hours later they're stale. it boggles my mind!
I had a ball playing outside tonight with the dogs, they looove winter! all decked out in my snowsuit in the minus-teens weather, scouting for snow-piles to climb and tumble down, it's such awesome exercise! came home with snowballs dangling from my hat and ankles but i felt warm and happy. almost forgot for a moment that my boss is quitting. almost.
This wine is soooo good... smooth like a baby's bottom. even if i hate babies.
The chiro did a great job on my back, i know that tomorrow i'll feel a heck of a lot better, just hope i get some sleep tonight. that's what the wine is for, he he he! Of course crouching on the ground for 30 minutes trimming 8 sets of fuzzy dog feet and trimming all those nails didn't help, still it's much better than changing diapers or burping little monsters :-)) i saw a lady struggling with a stroller on my way home tonight from work, sidewalks still not cleared of all the snow, and my first thought was "poor woman" and then as i walked by, laden by bags myself and with a sore back, my second thought wasn't so altruistic: "why the hell do people have babies anyways? it's pathetic!" oh well. guess i won't win any mommy-of-the-year award for 2007! hurrah! :-)
But if dogs could vote, i'd be in office, for sure!

Liquid Breakfast
Public transportation is never boring, is all i can say... since i was late for work on this -12C morning i hopped the subway and then getting on the bus, this well-dressed and clean gentleman started poking me in the arm and talking really loud, but nonsense stuff, i couldn't hear him much anyways thanks to my iPod... his smell gave him away so i didn't feel bad completely ignoring him. Sorry buddy but if you want to be friends with the 40-ouncer for breakfast, you ain't gonna be friends with many other people riding that bus and breathing through their mouths not to throw up! for fuck's sake, what is WRONG with people? is society that lonely and dysfunctional so early in the morning now? it was both sad and pathetic at the same time. nobody wanted to talk to this poor bastard who was trying so hard to get anyone to have a convo with him. no wonder you see people talking to mailboxes and parking meters.
OK so two days after painting, my back goes into spasms, can't move my head left or right or brush my teeth - bf had to rub my shoulders this morning just so i could get out of bed, groan. i'm sooo pathetically out of shape, it's embarassing. 3 hours of vigorous painting and this is what i'm left with. i can't wait for 6pm, blessed chiro with the warm ultrasound, stretches and gentle cracks. aaaaaaah. worth every penny! but in the meantime here i sit, suffering like a bitch. uughh.
I'm caught in a whirlwind.

To sum it up...
~How many men does it take to change a roll of toilet paper?
We don't know; it has never happened. ~
well time flew by and i didn't get my massage, bf offered twice but i was busy with my online forums... damn. how stupid can i be! time for bed now, have to be up in 7 short hours for another long day. And hell if i feel like it... my ideal world? Bed at 3am, up at 10am - most perfect for my biorhythm. guess i'll have to wait until i retire to get that lucky eh? wow something to look forward to besides wrinkles, sagging, menopause, divorce, whatever. thank god i have no kids, and never will. shudder!
g'nite!

Cold feet? Keep movin'!
Recent discovery... if i can't feel my hands and feet and they're turning to ice, i need to move, run, walk briskly, anything to get the circulation going. before you know it, this gorgeous rush of warmth flows to my extremities and life is good again, i can tilt my head to the snowy sky and let flakes melt on my tongue. Now I need to apply this to my life! when i'm hesitating, not sure if i should do something or not... hemming and hawing... getting cold feet... i need to just DO IT! Get moving! whatever that "it" is. So there, my epiphany of the day :) I really need a freaking vacation... I miss california, i miss the break from routine and can't wait for March. Can't plan too much right now as it's not official that i'm going BUT as soon as I know for sure... I'm going to bite the bullet and make plans to stay a bit longer and reconnect with the scene. "keep movin'" .
The dogs are out on the cold snowy balcony, eating their dinner, i can hear them thumping out there... tonight they got leftover pasta (no sauce just plain), pork bones and turkey wings. We had french onion soup and egg-salad sandwiches... dinners are always the smaller meal of the day. burp. BF offered to massage me again tonight, mmm! i am sooo spoiled... being in a live-in relationship is not all roses, it's fucking hard work if you ask me BUT once you settle down into a routine of sorts... it's not so difficult and there are more advantages than disadvantages. I still get away twice per year so i don't get cabin fever, thank god. I still take the time to see my girlfriends once in a while, not as often as i'd like but that is all my fault, i'm lazy, i procrastinate, i'm not very organized outside of work and there are never enough hours in a day. Sex? meh, sometimes boring in a routine way but that's just me. Aquarians live in their mind, that may be part of the problem too? Something to ponder. I need a vitamin shot maybe, or some testosterone??!

The boomerang sledgehammer
Just when I think "yay a headache-free Monday!" bam, there it is. sigh. So let's see what's in my pillbox... tylenol, excedrin, or codeine stuff? maybe i'll take one of each just to be sure. uuughhh! i need a new body.

Welcome to my fuzzy world
I may not post often, and I may not post übersexy scandals BUT everyone has something to say about the bubble they live in so eh! here I am :) ...a good friend of mine inspired me to keep an e-journal of sorts, good lord i haven't had a diary in decades - have i gotten that freaking old?! (runs away screaming)
OK i guess it's not too bad, still have a functioning brain and an OK bod, which i keep telling myself everyday that i must get in shape to achieve my potential... someday... soon... bla bla bla. I was not born with any exercise or gym gene whatsoever, which is too bad cuz if i worked out i'd kick ass! yet here i am cursing my soft middle and flabby arm every freaking day. i'm so hopeless eh? grumble grumble... just the story of millions of other girls i suppose. what's the correct terminology anyways? girls, chicks, women, ladies, chicas, bitches?
Today's menu: caught on on sleep by waking up at noon, put together a superyummyfattening brunch for bf and i (think of it as a giant sandwich... toasted bread, mayo, honey-chive dijon mustard, avocado, bacon, fried eggs, cheese). With a side of hot latte. yum! threw some clothes on and off we went to walk with the dogs in a cool place 30 minutes from the bustling city, it's a privately-owned woods that welcomes the public (for a small fee), the trails are fun and well-maintained, it was awesome. Walked 6km of trail on crunchy snow and ice, it was hard at first but gradually my frozen bits got nice and toasty, lungs got a cleaning by the oxygenated cold air and oooh i feel sooo good after the exercise. the dogs are passed out on the floor, they just had their dinner (they shared a whole raw chicken tonight), i had a long hot shower and am now in my jammies in front of the boring boob-tube, while the laundry dries and life goes on. Might watch a movie tonight, just copied all 4 "Alien" dvds for a trip down memory lane.
OK you've deducted so far I live in Canada, somewhere cold (ha! that was supposed to be funny), i have two amazing dogs and live with my bf... almost 4 years now. Before you think "boooring" well just wait and see what I have to say about that...
