I should totally have named him "Casanova" or something of the sort... could a dog be happier or more in love with life and all the people who cross his path? I don't think so!

My other Romeo
I should totally have named him "Casanova" or something of the sort... could a dog be happier or more in love with life and all the people who cross his path? I don't think so!
Vacation + Friday = bliss
Tonight we're invading N's place with Curly and Funboy, she's making fabulous indian chicken so we can all stuff our faces and poke fun at the world - good times :-D
Am trying not to focus on Sunday evening when Vegas flies back to the UK because my heart will break and the spillage would taint the few hours we have left together. Sometimes I wonder if too much of a good thing is, in fact, a good thing.
Guess time will tell.

Sushi fingers
Me, I don't mind having sushi fingers (find it far more enjoyable to eat with hands rather than with chopsticks) but it does bring out some giggles in bed afterwards, if you know what I mean!
"What's that smell?"
"Oh hunny, it's just sushi... and c*ck."
"Right. Carry on then!"
I think it might have been funny cuz we were a bit drunk and high on a Bruce Lee documentary, he he! *insert meowling cat jeet kun do fighting sound* I mean come ON, he was the king! Look at him go!

Bush goes to hell
"I don't know what to do," says the Devil. "You're on my list but I have no room for you. But you definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got three people here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place.
I'll even let YOU decide who leaves."
George thought that sounded pretty good so he agreed.
The devil opened the first room. In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty handed over and over and over, such was his fate in Hell.
"No!" George said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long."
The Devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time.
"No! I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!" commented George.
The Devil opened a third door. In it, George saw Bill Clinton lying naked on the floor with his arms staked over his head and his legs staked in spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.
Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this."
The Devil smiled and said, "Monica, you're free to go!"

New addiction!!
Can't wait to see it again, it was that inspiring!
/end of happy movie post/
Whattaday!
Why the weather has been so shitty, I dunno.
Why it doesn't matter, well cuz Vegas is still here for a few days, yay me!
Wierd that he is home working and I'm here in the office, but that allowed me to have a slow relaxing breakfast of painkillers and coffee (in my tummy! not on my laptop, whee!) since he took the kids out for a looong morning walk, and he's doing the early evening run as well - how sweet is that?! Sigh. I loves him!
Am picking up a bottle of chablis or chardonnay on the way home (his treat is sushi), I get to come home and just slip on some jammies - no dog duty - it feels like a holiday. Am smiling like a goof, does it show? *embarassed*
Oh well better enjoy it, am most probably back to posting bitchy stuff next week when I'm alone again and wallowing in PMS and getting no sex and fighting against endless snowstorms and picking up dog poop.
Can't wait to start reading "God is not Great". Not that I believe in God in the first place, but I do love a good controversial read. My only question is "why can't we all get along?" I don't mind people having beliefs that make them happy but for the love of allah, don't impose it on others, eh?
This pagan is signing off for the day... be good, peeps!

Pray for the laptop
Awesome.
I pray to god I didn't fry it or anything :-(
My boss is driving me fucking crazy today, the weather is shit and the morning race to work left me no time to cuddle with Vegas. Headache is growing exponentially and waaaah! My heart is in my throat. Don't even have any spare minutes to catch up on everyone's blogs today and it's so frustrating.
Hope you're all having a better day than I am.

Strangled but still alive
It *would* have taken all of 30 minutes IF the damn provincial website was explicit in what is required... for marriages in Montreal. Yep. The rules are the same aaaall over the province *except* for Montreal, which apparently burped up its own monarchy at some point.
In a way it's great cuz it's less paperwork but my god, we weren't prepared.
"No you need your witness now, fill in this form, go pay and then you can get married after you choose the date in 3 weeks". Awesome! Except I thought the witness was only needed for the interview later on, which isn't needed in Montreal.
Thank god I have fantastic friends AND timing... grabbed my phone and called N who was having lunch with Funboy: "I need help, can you come to the courthouse right away to sign some papers so Vegas and I can apply to get married?" "We're on our way, hang tight!" Sigh. I am so blessed.
20 mins later they appeared, and you'd think the drama ended there but... it had just begun. Cuz you know, I thought I had my divorce papers in order (hell it was 11 years ago) but ha ha, wrong document.
"You need to get a copy of your decree of divorce, just go over there to the other department and they can print you a copy."
That sounded easy enough... by this time Funboy had left to go back to work, Vegas went to get food cuz he was starving and somebody needed to fill the parking meter and take care of the dogs that had been in the car for 1.5 hours, luckily my awesome friend N stayed by my side during the whole ordeal that ensued. I loves her.
"Hmmm according to our files, you are not legally divorced."
"What? That isn't possible, my ex got remarried a few years ago. In this province."
"Well go over to the records department over there and ask for your file, maybe some paperwork wasn't entered into the system."
I might have panicked slightly at this point.
The records lady was a sweetie though (they all were, to be honest), and yep sure enough the pile of papers were in order but the e-file needed to be updated. After much shuffling of said paperwork and more signatures, ta-da!
Got the doc I needed, got copies of everything for my records (cuz the ass of an ex never got me a single thing), back to the marriage dept to complete the file, another walk over to the cashier to pay for everything, one more trip back to give the receipt and WHEW!! They will call in 3 weeks so we can settle on a date.
Next panic attack is scheduled for early August - what? I'm getting MARRIED?!
OK it may be sheer jubilation and excitement, he he. Just please... no more paperwork. Please.

Tick. Tock.
Mushy post... can ya blame the girl?
Every day this man does or says things that just send me flipping harder head over heels - feeling so alive with him here, every moment is precious and to be savored to the max. Was I ever really alive before, or just merely living?
I am a big moosh - nothing wraps it up more than Francesca in Bridges of Madison County: "And in that moment, everything I knew to be true about myself up until then was gone. I was acting like another woman, yet I was more myself than ever before."
Everyone should watch this movie at least once in their lifetime. If you have, then you know why. If you haven't, then you should go and find out why.
His scent intoxicates me. His smile is like a ray of sunshine that warms my heart. His touch is pure energy that makes every cell in my body vibrate in response. The more I know him, the more beautiful he becomes... and the more beautiful I feel.
The realist in me knows that these fleeting moments will at some point be replaced by drudgery of "real life" but you know what? It doesn't need to be this way... I won't let it.
Every single relationship I've had in my life before Vegas was doomed from the start because I never saw any long-term future for them. I knew I had to learn and grow from these experiences - some broke me, others fixed some parts of me while breaking others. But I never wanted to spend my life with any of these men. I didn't feel challenged with some, respected with others, enthralled by any of them - not like this, never anything like this.
We are equals, pulling in the same direction for something we both want very very much. It's like life has given us this one chance at perfection and we're not going to fuck it up.
Cuz if I can't make it with Vegas... I'm getting a bunch of scraggly cats and moving to a trailer park where I shall spend the rest of my miserable maid life knitting slippers out of phentex and drinking moonshine straight from dirty jugs while my teeth fall out and I don't give a rat's ass.
The end.

Heaven
Vegas' flight was delayed by a looong hour last night but the homecoming was only that much sweeter. Sigh. I feel whole again. It's a long sunny weekend (we both took Monday off), the dogs are at the sitter's until dinnertime so the day belongs to us!
Am not desperate to go out and do things though... just hanging out, eating and chilling out is just fine with me. After weeks and weeks of just talking (yay for LDR's! ghah), it's kinda nice to not do anything but cuddle and just "be". I had missed his sweet scent soooo badly, specially in the nape of his neck... Yeah.
Am a happy happy girl now. *grins*

FFS - it's snowing!
OK a little gem to lighten the load, er, mood:
I wish snowstorms here would have such a happy ending! LOL!
This is it...
Romeo and Juliet had it easy - mutter.
Love the haircut I got last night, but the styling definitely won't last until tonight - too bad, it's kinda super sexy he he. I guess it doesn't matter once you're in the heat of the action... bedhead, anyone? *grin*
OK, need to get some work done... oh that damn ticking clock!

Bionic flowers
TOMORROW! He is here tomorrow night! aaaaaaaaaaa!
Getting my hair cut tonight, I originally wanted a few inches off to get the bounce back in my curls (stoopid winter hat hair), but hmm there aren't many split ends and summer is coming... long sexy hair? or just a mess that will make me sweat? Decisions, decisions... prolly go for the cut, I can't be arsed to deal with this much hair. (not cracking any Britney jokes here)
I re-orged my desk space this morning and facking hate it. The keyboard shelf they installed is at the wrong place and it's making me twist my neck even worse than it was before, ooh my shoulders hurt like a bitch - bleh. *dials the guys to come fix it*
My dogsitter friend is a godsend.
He's taking the kids this afternoon, so I can get to the hairdresser after work without worrying about the dogs first. They'll be out cold by the time I pick them up, LOL!
BUT! Listen to this!!
He offered to pick them up again tomorrow afternoon and keep them until Saturday, so Vegas and I can have night of just us, no dog duties to interfere with our, er, sleep. *nudge nudge wink wink*
And then!!
He's making us dinner for Saturday (home-made pizza supreme, my fav chocolate cake with whipped cream, and a bottle of wine) so we can take it home and stuff our lover's faces, no wasting time in the kitchen or anything, LOL!
I adore that man. Any idea how to spoil him back? It's so difficult to come up with anything original for him... sigh.
30 hours. *faints*
As promised... the exploding bitch
Just a taste of the aftermath:
This is after a few minutes of brushing yesterday, this morning was another repeat and it's just not stopping! There is a layer of fluff coating everything in the appartment, I have dog hair in my food, on my clothes, in my eyes, up my nose, ARGH!
I've vaccuumed 3 times the past 2 days and have hardly made a dent in the mess.
'Tis madness, 'tis not pleasant and I need a break :-(

(are we spoiled, or what)
Yes, she comes here once a week, sets up her table in one of the conference rooms, puts on the sleepy music and if you're lucky enough to get a 30-minute spot - you get treated to a wonderful relaxing and much-needed back rub.
I purr.
Best thing is, our insurance plan covers $450 per year for massages - how awesome is that? I am SO signing up for more of these middle-of-the-day sessions of yumminess.
I think it's finally starting to sink in...
Vegas is here day after tomorrow!! Makes my stomach churn with excitement and my head spin from all I need to do before he arrives.
My entire appartment is covered in a layer of dog fluff - I had forgotten why I hate giving the little one a bath and I have a photo to prove it (will post it later so you can see). The bathroom is a pigstye, the floors are cruddy, still need to get groceries and take care of making myself presentable, too. All this with a full-time job and la la la!
Back to work I go... *flails arms a little*

Meow!
~Rebecca West, "Mr Chesterton in Hysterics: A Study in Prejudice," The Clarion, 14 Nov 1913, reprinted in The Young Rebecca, 1982
80 hours, and counting
If I love him this much now... what will it be like in a few years?
I've never wanted to "grow old" with anyone before - relationships always felt transitory and I was fine with that, I get bored too easily and never could settle - oh no, not moi! But with Vegas? He flipped my world on its head and gave it a good chiro cracking... I finally met my match.
The only way to survive the next few days is to keep busy after the sun sets, cuz that is when I tend to crash and reach for the wine bottle.
Not that I abuse it or anything, just a glass or two to take the edge off the loneliness and lingering insecurities that long evenings spent alone bring about (although am doing better now, with Vegas' patient ministrations).
I bathed melon-head last night and although my back is still screaming in agony (you try to scrub a 140 lbs dog in a small tub...) it is a real pleasure to see him so white and fluffy - he smells like the teddy-bear that he is again.
Tonight is the peanut's turn and she is a handful... she always leans towards the shower curtain cuz she doesn't like baths and her super-thick fur is a challenge to get wet and rinse clean. Then she dries and fur explodes everywhere for two days.
Awesome. Pass the wine.
I really need to get a life!

Lucky 7 - meme time!
1 - I have cereal for dinner more often than I care to admit. Whoops, I think I just did admit... Dammit. Everyone will think I'm a student now, and not a lazy-arsed bachelorette.
2 - I am a terrible liar. This statement is either true or false, so maybe I am a good liar? Wow - so confusing.
3 - Apparently I have a great talent for giving head. Yep, you heard me. "How to please a man in two minutes or less" - he he.
4 - I have a morbid fear of losing my teeth, even have nightmares about it. This statement is in no way related to #3.
5 - I loove love love trance music... hot dirty bassed techno is my life. Now you know where I got my name from ;-)
6 - On the other hand, I abhor goat cheese. Vomit.
7 - A hazelnut can kill me. So can almonds, walnuts and a bunch of other nuts... sigh. This nuisance only started in my early 20's, by the way. Sigh.
OK that's about it... am going to be a pest and tag a few peeps: Rebecca, Dolce, PrincessB, and Jessica. Have fun!
Bored bored bored
If Women Ruled The World...
Little girls would read, "Snow White and the Seven Hunks."
TV news segments on sports would never run longer than 1 minute.
All men would be forced to spend one month in a PMS simulator.
...Amen to that! LOL!

What is Faith?
To trust:
To commit oneself to act based on self experience to warrant belief, but without absolute proof.[1] Mere belief on the basis of evidence is not faith. To have faith involves an act of will.
To have faith that one's spouse will keep a promise or commitment.
To have faith that the world will someday be peaceful.
To have faith that a person will pay you back.
To have faith that you will be okay despite adversity.
To have faith in one's full dependence on the will of supernatural forces or deities.
To believe without reason:
Believing impulsively, or believing based upon social traditions or personal hopes. A means to obtain something.
To have faith in a process. (Faith in the Law)
To have faith in a source or resource. (Faith in your paycheck or employment)
To have faith in a method to obtain. (work hard, lie, cheat, buy, trade, be attractive, etc.)
To have faith in the pathway to a specific desire. (The fastest way to a man's heart is his stomach.)
Faith is the development of pathways through doubt. With certain resistances to life, wishing to obtain more life force causes us to develop means and methods to overcome the resistance.
When something is wanted and there stands doubt between your current condition of need and the thing desired, systems of faith are employed.
A person will first work existing pathways already established by faith. If they fail, they will seek to develop other pathways by faith, not knowing for sure if the path they pursue will provide the object they seek.
...Vegas told me to have faith this morning, faith in him and faith in us. He knows I'm struggling with my inner demons but that I am putting up a good fight - I have to. These last few days before I see him again are the worst, I think. He's not in the UK anymore, he's in San Francisco and little ol'me, am stuck in Montreal. It's not much progress, if you think about it.
Nothing I can do about it except keep trudging along, one day at a time, one hour at a time. Trying not to feel left behind but it's difficult, when my whole team is out there and me, bah. Stuck in my office on an empty floor, staring at the walls and restraining myself not to climb them.
This blows the sewer pipe, it really does.

Yum yum betty
It's raining, it's pouring...
Yep. A giant facking mess is being born outside as the freezing rain pelts down on the mounds of dirty snow covering this frigid city... Giant sigh. We're allowed no breaks this winter, none, nada, zip.
At least yesterday was pretty nice despite the siberian heat (insert sarcastic snicker), so I grabbed the moment by the balls and took some photos of my neighborhood, which I've started posting on my Bubblegum Snapshots blog - got loads to put up so do go visit during the week if you'd like to see some neat stuff.
The naked chicks are being kept for summer, LOL!
My lucky man Vegas is in San Francisco right now, nice and toasty and pretending to work. Grrr. I should have been there too but nooo, budget cuts have kept me here all by my lonesome, shoving nasty chocolates in my mouth in order not to scream.
It's sooo not fair, I'm allowed to bitch about it, right girls?
I can only hope he'll miss me a little bit between naps, wine dinners, customers and parties full of young sexy girls rubbing against his leg. I used to trust men a whole lot more before most of my loser boyfriends cheated on me at some point or the other of our so-called relationships - what is UP with that? Was I not good enough?
*feels ill for a moment*
Need to believe in Vegas and to trust that I'm the only woman that matters - I have no choice, or this will never work. He deserves a clean slate, he's not responsible for all the crap my exes have slung at me in the past. And so far he's given me less than zero reasons to NOT trust him, on the contrary... I've never felt more loved, adored and respected before so yeah, shaddap you stupid-assed voices in my head!!!
Back to the kichen... cleaned my disgusting fridge today, now will do the stove and steamvac the dirty doggy carpet and all that jazz.
Keeps my mind off the yuckies. Sigh.

Love Bites
Def Leppard - Love Bites
I refuse to believe this is from 21 years ago... God, does it ever bring back a flood of memories. It was (and still is) a damn awesome song that still chokes me up - although now it isn't so much out of the desperation of teenage love and its entaglements, but more like a punch in the gut: where did the past two decades go? And why does it feel like yesterday? And why can't I go back, just for a day? An hour? Oh, right... the mullets. Sigh.

Um, whose couch is this?!
I prayed for bigger boobs, they never happened
Grrr. Makes me want to get fat just to fill my bra properly. Vegas, maybe I *will* wear that t-shirt after all (front: who needs big tits / back: when you've got an ass like this).
If only they would invent chocolate that increases your cup size and decreases mood swings! Imagine! Who needs to invest R&D dollars in cloning sheep and hair implants when there are so much more useful scientific advancements to be made?
Ignore the awesome English there, I'm starving for a thick coffee.
Happy Friday, everyone!

This is either good or bad
The bad thing is, my feet only endure expensive shoes or boots with platform soles... the very well-made and well balanced ones which set your foot just right on the ground.
Turns out I'd only tried cheap footwear or thin-soled things that are feet wreckers - no wonder. Sigh.
All this to say, I fell in love with my dreamboat shoes last night, of course they are in a super expensive chic store - didn't even have the nerve to try them on after looking at the pricetag ($365 before taxes).
I'm way too level-headed to spend money I don't have on such a frivolous thing as a pair of red shiny croc-skin high heels of dominatix mistress lusciousness. Sigh.
I mean, look at these shoes, hmm a tiny bit cheaper on the website than in the store... and oh look, they come in black with a metal heel. Oh no.
Woe is me.
/end of post/
Um... he cheated and got me flowers
We both agreed that St-Valentine's was a cheesy commercial affair and that we celebrate love every single day in a multitude of ways, so we'd let this one drop. Well... he still managed to surprise the heck out of me with a bouquet of lovely red roses sent to my office!
Awwwww! *melts*
I already knew he was the Best One, but he keeps doing these things that make me fall in love even more, how the hell does he do that?
No matter what women say, we ALL want flowers on St-Valentine's day. Even one drawn on a piece of paper, it doesn't matter. Even if we know we are loved and special, it still doesn't matter. Flowers are life, they are spring, they are love and they are just beautiful.
Is it August yet, so I can marry him? :-D

It's official...
For Montreal, the average snowfall in an entire winter is 87" (7.2 feet). So far we've had 105" (8.75 feet) dumped on our heads and there is still a good 6 weeks left... since we're averaging a fat snowstorm every 2 weeks, is it ok for me to lose my mind right now instead of waiting?
I am getting my money's worth from my snowsuit, let me tell you.
So, I got in a fight with the marshmallow sitting on my tummy today.
Damn thing just won't go away no matter what I do. Why can't it just migrate upwards to pad my small boobs? Oi. I just dumped the quasi-new pack of twizzlers in the trash, dunno why I bought that junk in the first place, it's gaggingly sweet and sticks to my teeth like dog poop on shoes.
*bites back a yawn*
My dreamboat Vegas is here next week, hardly seems real!! 9 days!! Look at all these exclamation marks, do you see how happy and excited I am?!! Yes yes yes!!
Am exhausted though. Wanted an early night so I'm behind schedule, I guess I should go... blogger is excruciatingly slow to load for me tonight so I'm only half caught up on my fav blogs, must catch up tomorrow then.
Night night everyone.

Wretched snowstorm #(wait, I've lost count)
The roads and public transportation system are paralysed, the airport is closed, My car is jammed in a snowbank on the street until the weekend, it's cold and windy and everything is a giant mess.
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS CRAAAAPPP!!
This is, without a doubt, the shittiest mothereffing winter in a decade. I don't know how people in Finland do it, I really don't. They must be aliens.

Can't wait to read this! Wow!
Has anyone hear read the book, or has heard about it?
/end of post/
Do you believe in miracles?
Look at the picture below and you can see where this guy broke through the guardrail, right side where the people are standing on the road (pointing). The pick-up was traveling from right to left when it crashed through the guardrail, flipped end-over-end across the culvert outlet and landed right side up on the left side of the culvert facing the opposite direction from which he was traveling (click on the pics for larger images).
Now look at what COULD have happened...

I love him
The man who believed in me in my darkest days, who never left my side when I needed him the most. The one who saw through my armour and sought to comfort the broken girl inside, who showed her what Love was really all about.
The man who showed me how to dream again, the man who walks, talks and breathes respect, honesty, integrity, truth and loyalty.
The man who makes me laugh until my sides hurt, who challenges me and yet seeks my guidance and wisdom as much as I seek his. The one who believes in me, in magick and that life is, after all, a damn wonderful journey.
The Best One. My soulmate, my friend, my companion and soon, my husband.
I can't wait.

Ya know...
Good bits:
-public transport to work was a breeze
-day was productive so the hours passed quickly
-lunch was healthy and tasty, yay me
-chatted with Vegas on and off all day
-period cramps and migraine both got crushed by the nice drugs Vegas sent me from the UK (yayy codeine!)
-had a fun time with the furkids in the snow, despite the brutal, biting cold
vs
Bad bits:
-the walk home nearly killed me, it was so freaking windy and cold
-dinner was a bunch of frozen eggrolls and plum sauce. then wine and cookies. holy fat and calories, I feel gross now. *whines*
-am missing vegas so much but he's asleep so can't call or anything.
-migraine is creeping back, what would I do for a shoulder rub.
Um, so, how did I do overall? For a Monday, I mean.
It's Monday - are you alive and kicking?
Eleven days until Vegas is here. Eleven.

Checkitout
If only the cold, grey uninspiring weather can let up now so I can take my camera outside and snap new material - the nastiness just won't let up, ffs. I need me some green, some warmth and a road trip - raaaagh!
Either that or take out the lingerie for some auto portraits. hmmm.

More Coldcut... "Everything is under Control" featuring Jon Spencer and Mike Ladd, from "Sound Mirrors"
Totally awesome. I can't stop shaking my booty!
Thank you UK migraine meds. Thank you.

Drug of the week
"Just for the kick" - Coldcut featuring Annette Peacock
Can't get enough of this album (Sound Mirrors), even through the migraine it's a dirty-bassed chooooon that gets me hiiiigh! Plus this video is pretty brilliant, can't be bad-mooded after watching that. Yeah.

Need an exorcism
One weekend every month it's the same spiel, hormonal headache + mega stiff neck and shoulders = incapacitated Technodoll. Sigh. What I would do for a shoulder rub right now. Drugs just make me stoned and slurry, they barely make a dent in the pain.
So if I lay low for a bit, you know why.
Y'all be good now, kay?

Preach on
Funky-assed asparagus pee!
Don't want to poison anybody going in there after me!
All this brought on by my lovely improvised dinner of rice sauteed in olive oil, garlic, chopped steamed baby asparagus and shredded edam cheese. mmm-mmm good! The stench that will come later when I will pee - not so good.
Only 40 to 50% of the population is affected, eh?
I lifted this from the web:
Asparagus, a green vegetable belonging to the lily family, has one notorious side effect for some diners who eat enough of it. Within a half-hour of asparagus consumption, some people notice their urine has acquired a very pungent odor, often compared to rotting cabbage, ammonia or rotten eggs. The effects of asparagus on urine are generally fleeting and harmless, but it's not necessarily the consumer's finest hour, bodily excretion-wise.
Scientists are still not entirely sure which set of chemicals or amino acids contained in asparagus actually cause the smelly pee. The stalks themselves do not acquire a similar odor as they are prepared, so whatever happens most likely happens after ingestion.
Experts believe that those with a certain gene produce a digestive enzyme which breaks down the asparagus into various amino acids. One of those compounds is called methyl mercaptan, which is the same chemical which gives a skunk its defensive smell. One theory suggests that asparagus breaks down quickly in the body and an enzyme releases methyl mercaptan, which eventually goes through the kidneys and is excreted as a waste product in the urine.
Others suggest that the asparagus smell is created by other amino acid compounds called thioesters. There is also an amino acid called asparagusic acid, which is not surprisingly found primarily in asparagus. If these compounds are broken down and mixed with the genetically-created enzyme, the results could be a strong smelling urine. This smell is actually considered to be good news, since it proves that the asparagus eater's kidneys are functioning as they should.
Erm, ok. My kidneys function well, thankyouverymuch.
Pass the gas mask.

I was right...
Of a week, even.
Let's see, how many ways are there to say I'm drained? Exhausted, flat, vaccuumed dry? Even sitting here with a glass of red is tiring, my aching spine is groaning in protest. Sigh. Dog and house chores all done, almost ready for a long hot shower and then flop! to bed!
Yep. Friday night excitement over here. Bring on the Chippendales, woohooo! So they can rub my feet and mop my floors, thank you.
I must be insane - my shower caddy contains no less than 8 different shower gels, 3 kinds of bar soaps, 3 flavors of shaving cream and 4 facial cleaners. A back brush. A poofy sponge. A body scrubber glove. And let's not get into the hair products.
Yet all I want in there is my man... Reeer!

Your Friday giggle
After Mr. Moore retired, Mrs. Moore insisted her husband accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, Mr. Moore was like most men -- he found shopping boring, and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, Mrs. Moore was like most women -- she loved to browse.
One day Mrs. Moore received the following letter from her local Wal-Mart.
" Dear Mrs. Moore,
Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We can no longer tolerate this behavior and may be forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Moore are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.
1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.
2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5 minute intervals.
3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.
4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official sounding voice, "Code 3 in Housewares - get on it right away."
5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.
6. September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.
7. September 15: Set up a tent in the Camping Department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.
8. September 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"
9. October 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.
10. November 10: While handling guns in the Hunting Department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.
11. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.
12. December 6: In the Auto Department, he practiced his "Madonna look" by using different sizes of funnels.
13. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"
14. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!"
And last, but not least,
15. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, "Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!"
Regards,
Wal-Mart Management
Gonna be a busy day
I hope yesterday's horribleness has passed, although I still feel weak and shakey - blah. Can't be hypoglycemia since I've been eating and yes, it's balanced and the sugar and vitamins are all there. No wine, no junk food. I slept well (7-ish hours?) and I don't feel particularly stressed about anything...
Yet my legs are still jello and I've the physical energy of a limp rag. Got a tic in my eye that's driving me crazy. Argh!!
Yelled at my ex yesterday when he called to see how I was doing, he was worried about me. "Wrong time to tell me how lovely the Australian beaches are right now, sorry!" I can be such a bitch sometimes.
This winter is slowly driving a long spike through my soul.
Time to get dressed and take the dogs out, lord give me strength. I mean it. Feel like I'm about to faint at any minute and it's a bit scary.
*just took my blood pressure and it's OK (i think?)... 121/86, however heart-rate is 99 BPM at rest. No wonder I feel tired.

My soul to keep
Bridget Jones would yawn at me
Wednesday, 3pm: Leave work early cuz of splitting headache, stagger home. Take more painkillers, lay on couch, watch Oprah, doze off. Drool on cushion.
5pm: Wake up to Dr. Phil and screaming guests, wonder where the hell I am. Headache reminds me. Crap.
5:30pm: Speak to Vegas on phone, reassure him I am not dead.
6pm: Put on snowsuit, drive to grocery store to get food for the kids, go pick them up from the dogsitter's, lug them and 30 lbs of food up 3 flights of stairs. Headache angry at me.
7pm: Feed pork roast to the kids, fuck it's cold outside. Sip on a glass of red wine. Headache plays tricks on me, forces me to binge on gingersnap cookies, cheese, cherries and an orange. How gross. Catch up on blogging community.
9:30pm: Can't keep eyes open, wtf? Admit defeat, go to bed.
1am: Aliens finally leave my brain, fall asleep after hours of delirious twitching, tossing and turning. I dream of nothing.
...really, is this life or am I just a freak? Sigh.

I died in my dreams last night
Was the passenger in a convertible with Vegas at the wheel, going full-throttle on a happy blue summer day when suddenly BAM - we hurtled over a grand-canyonesque cliff and oh my god... we were plunging to our deaths.
I could feel the warm air rushing past my face, I was weightless in the air yet heavy with relentless gravity and as the ground was leaping up to swallow us, I tried to twist towards Vegas and shout "I love you..." and the last thing I remember was "please god, let it be painless".
Then a blank nothing, and the dream morphed into other things.
What the FACK was that all about? UGH!!!

OK if you really want to know...
Now you know why my trip to the UK a month ago was so damn amazing.
Been a bit shy to talk about it cuz, you know, I swore off ever getting married again after the divorce fiasco, and to many people this seems quite sudden since we've only been officially dating since September... but when you've finally met "The One" - you just know. All the fears and trepidations melt away, there are no doubts or second-guesses.
I've never felt so sure of anything in my life before.
*blush*
So, there you have it... cat is out of the bag and I feel better now. Just wish we didn't have to spend so much time apart before finally staring our life together. It's a bit hellish, to be honest... sigh. Date is set for August though - wheee!
I feel like Cinderella.

I may have to tell you a secret...
It's a doozie so I need to sleep on it...
Sigh.
G'nite, peeps.

Why I hate petfood companies (mega rant!)
If you've done your research thoroughly and know what you're feeding your dog and that's acceptable to you - then fine. I'm not here to dispute that (ask Prin!).
What I am furious about is the gall of these giant conglomerates transforming industry waste and byproducts into "pet food" and fleecing unsuspecting pet owners with clever marketing spins and bullshit - poisoning our cats and dogs while lining their pockets with your hard-earned money and laughing all the way to the bank. I throw most vets into this bin of toxic waste too - bunch of pushers.
Here is a perfect example of what I'm talking about:
This poison, concocted and peddled by Del Monte Foods, is only one dog food in a sea of hundreds. All those brands of cat and dog food lining the shelves of your grocery store, Walmart, drugstore, home hardware store - you name it - in colorful bags, cans and pouches = toxic waste. If you see a brand advertised on TV, in a magazine or peddled by your vet: toxic waste. Don't touch it, don't throw another penny at it, run away screaming. The health, longevity and quality of life of your beloved pet depends on it.
Learn to read and interpret the ingredient labels and never mind the clever hype, marketing and endorsments from breeders, vets and the like for crappy food - if they knew what they were really feeding they would no doubt have a heart attack (mind you, some people just don't care while stuffing their faces with Burger King and Twinkies).
Want a quick lesson? Here is the link to the food mentioned in the video: Kibble n'Bits
Wow. Looks good and sounds great, right?
When it comes to mealtime, dogs always want what you’re eating. Now there’s New Kibbles 'n Bits HomeStyle dog food. It has the look and taste of people food, with tender meaty pieces like they were carved right off the bone, crunchy Kibbles and wholesome vegetables. Plus, it provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition. It’s the great-tasting dog food that makes mealtime more enjoyable for both you and your pet.
Why, I'd almost eat this stuff myself! But oh, wait... let's look at the ingredients:
Corn, soybean meal, ground wheat flour, beef & bone meal, animal fat (BHA used as preservative), water sufficient for processing, corn syrup, wheat middlings, soy flour, animal digest, wheat gluten, propylene glycol, salt, hydrochloric acid, chicken, potassium chloride, caramel color, titanium dioxide, sorbic acid (used as a preservative), choline chloride, sodium carbonate, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, manganous oxide, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), dried carrots, vitamins (vitamin E supplement, niacin supplement, vitamin A supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement), calcium sulfate, potassium sorbate (used as a preservative), yellow 6, yellow 5, BHA (used as a preservative), dl-methionine, red 40.
Wow. Let me put that into laymen's terms for you:
Cheap indigestible filler, cheap indigestible filler, cheap indigestible filler, cheap beef byproducts (wow! some form of meat!), mystery fat (preserved with a proven carcinogen), water, sugar, filler (think: peanut shells), cheap indegestible filler, glue, chemical, sale, chemical, - wait, what's this? a meat! wow!, mineral, color, more minerals and preservatives, bla bla bla, - wait, what's this? a vegetable of sorts! wow!, more artificial vitamins and minerals, chemicals, food coloring.
Awesome!
I don't know about you, but somehow I don't know how you could fool a dog to think this resembles "people food" in any way, shape or form. What wholesome vegetables? A dried carrot which makes up about 2% of the recipe? What tender meaty pieces? It's sugar, glue and flour! And don't think for a minute that the "beef" or "chicken" in this food has anything to do with what you and I eat: it's beaks, feathers, intestines, heads, feces, stomaches, udders, lips and assholes, tumors, you name it.
This is not food, it's a joke and a disgrace. Shame on them!
If you feed Whiskas, Cesar, Ol'Roy, Dog Chow, Iams, Purina anything, etc etc... I hope the above has made you think a bit and want to investigate... I dunno about you, but I want to use my hard-earned dollars to feed my beloved pets real food, not toxic waste in a fancy bag or cute can.
Peace, out.
Pretty brilliant, LOL!

Laughter, the best medecine
So I will laugh at myself now.
Bet I looked pretty silly this morning, picking up doggie splats on the floor at 5am (he ate dirty snow or something). You should have seen me frantically apologizing to my dogs for the supershort10minute walk they got this morning, a guarantee that I will have another mess to pick up when I get home tonight. Awesome.
Bet I also looked silly trying to, once again, clean the new heavy wet snow off my car parked on the boulevard while rushing traffic slushed me from head to toe in freezing cold brown street crap.
The snowplows never came last night, so all that frantic car-moving was for naught. Well not really, since I would have had to do it today - in the rain - all things considered, I'm glad it's done. Having zero parking in my neighborhood until tomorrow morning forced me to get the car to the garage for a 3-month-overdue inspection and fine-tuning, which is good right?
Clever move to only go pick it up tomorrow morning, he he. No parking woes for tonight, thank the fack holy J.
Now that the work-day is half over, I can start breathing a bit... will catch up on all my favorite blogs tonight with a glass of wine, then cross this messy day off the calendar and congratulate myself for not going insane. Yet.
17 days.

I admit utter defeat
I've had to dig out the car this winter more often than the past 4 winters combined, and we're only halfway through. It's not the end of the world when you're expecting to shovel, are dressed for it and not flattened by a supersucky long stressful workday, right? Right.
Well tonight was NOT one of those days.
I could only get in and out of the car through the passenger door, for starters. Dragging a shovel. Dig, spin wheels, dig, spin wheels... fucking street is black ice under all that heavy dirty snow, you can't even push the damn thing cuz there is no traction to be had whatsoever, anywhere.
After 30 minutes I flag down a good samaritan, give him the keys and pray for mercy. He said the only way out was to burn the ice with heat from the tires and hope to hit asphalt enough to wrench the car out of the pithole.
My lord, I didn't think my car would survive being revved to the red zone like that, tires almost bursting into flame through all that smoke.
Burnt rubber is not sexy, it's downright nasty shit!!
But he got the car out finally after a few tries, and then my car reeked of acrid smoke for a long time afterwards. There go my tires.
I won't mention the shaky drive to the field where the dogs ran away and the snow filled my too-short boots, freezing my feet (at least it matched my face and hands) and rendering me completely useless.
I'm home now, in jammies, it took a good hour and a glass of wine to calm down, nerves still frayed and I feel raw, you know? This winter is a killer, kinda like a sleeper wave... and it had to happen the only time I am alone to face it all. I know I shouldn't complain, that many have it as bad or worse than I do, but hell!
This is not making me stronger, it's making me want to keel over and just cry for mercy. I surrender, ok? Enough with the ass kicking, it's not funny anymore!
How many days until spring?

2000 calorie sunday afternoon snack
Why did I do that? I wasn't even really craving that plate of fries with gravy and cheese from the greasy spoon next door... ugh. I'll be digesting this crap for a week. Double ugh - feel fat and slugish and oily now - not too awesome.
*beats self with a banana peel*
I must thank my man, Vegas, for fixing the diaries - me and html code, we don't get along OK? 'nuff said.
This weekend has been mellow, didn't see any friends but I did catch up on housework, laundry and cooking, took some time to play with the dogs and the Bubblegum Snapshots, not enough sleep but is there ever?
19 days until Vegas gets here, am climbing the walls with repressed hormones here - ghaa! There is no relief in wine and online scrabble anymore. I need my man. NOW!

Diaries going for major surgery
Back soon @full throttle!
/end of post/
The diaries are ill
As you can see, I've more or less stripped all the fun stuff off in the sidebars in the hopes that it would help but no luck - waaah! Is there an HTML coding genius reading this by any chance? Please?
I'll be happy when this glitch has been resolved and blogging can go back to normal cuz honestly, the frustration is getting my BP way out of whack! Raaaaagh!

Snapshots are eating me up
Prin where-ever you are, am thinking of you and praying you made it safely to your destination. Please give sign of life as soon as you can! The storm has been shite all day here, with snow turning to hail and freezing rain - still coming down nearly 12 hours later, bleurk.
I should dig out my skates for transportation tomorrow.
So, is this lame or what? One measly glass of South Australian red wine and I'm off my rocker. I mean difficult-to-type buzzed. 13-year-old-first-wine buzzed. Is my liver shrinking?! Fack!
How I love weekends, specially "me" weekends like this one. Got my list of stuff I want to do, mostly cooking and long-overdue house cleanups (my food pantry is a pigstye) and oh sleeeep, blessed sleeeep. Purr.
Starting... now.
/end of post/
Finally Friday - bliss!
Sooo... I've been busy updating my Snapshots blog, do go visit and let me know what you think? Will probably spend part of the weekend on there, it's getting quite addictive - reeer!
More random thoughts:
Three weeks down and three more to go until my man, Vegas, gets here for a 9-day visit. Can time crawl any slower? Sigh. Didn't think so.
Blogger is still giving me headaches but A-HA! It's apparently not just me, so am wondering wtf is going on and when will it be fixed? Still looking for a way to report the damn problems but no luck. *waves white flag*
Oh and I've discovered a little bit of heaven in a cup this morning... stopped to buy a bag of fresh espresso beans last night at my neighborhood coffee roaster shop, and out of curiosity brought back home an exotic bottle of golden liquid aka "orange chocolate syrup" for lattes and italian sodas - dear lord it's a mouth orgasm! Who needs dessert anymore? puuurrrrr!
Hey I have to wait 3 more weeks for sex, a girl needs something to tide her over!
