My dogsitter found a tiny chi mix abandonned in the park yesterday, tied to a tree. The poor thing had been there for hours, freezing and crying... At first he thought the owners were around so he didn't do anything, but when he walked by again later it was obvious some asshole decided to dump his "problem" on whoever else gave a shit.
Humanity never ceases to amaze me.
Luckily there are good souls around... my dogsitter brought the chi to an elderly couple he knows on his street, their small dog had passed away from old age a few months ago and they were contemplating getting another dog.
Talk about providence...
He asked them to keep the dog for the night, brought some food over and apparently it was love at first sight both ways - looks like the little guy got VERY lucky and has found a new loving home while bypassing the horrors of the SPCA. I guess this is how the universe keeps its balance, for every asswipe there is an angel picking up the trash left behind.
Such an unusually mild day, still dry and going up to 14C soon - woot! Of course it's just a blip, after that we suffer cold wet rain for a few days. It might actually inspire me to make cookies, hmmm... warm chocolate chip straight from the oven, with a tall glass of cold milk.
LOL my Friday evening is all planned out! *grin*

Good thing Ellen wasnt involved.
She would have messed everything up.
Poor wee doggie! Some people suck. Good thing there are others to pull up the slack in the humanity department.
poor puppy, glad someone found him & gave him a loving home. Now you have me craving choclate chip cookies MMMM!!!
Yey for your dogwalker! :)
Yeah, my dogsitter (he is also one of my good friends) has a heart of gold, he cleans up alot of messes that others leave behind. The world would be a better place if we had more of him, and less of "them".
