Mother of dog, that Pinot Noir was awesome! Paired with fine fresh sushi at the end of a long day, mmmhmmm... we didn't even finish the movie we were watching, that's how dopey we got - what can I say, we're getting ooooold!
*grin*
My dad turns 59 today... It's a bit of a shocker. For me my parents have always been young, vibrant, strong - and now when I stop to really *look* at them and think of them creeping up to their 60's it freaks me out a bit. They look smaller. Their faces have more lines, their glasses are thicker. Their teeth are starting to look older. They don't move the same way. How much time do I really have left with them..?
On top of this sense of urgency that is settling in, all this makes _me_ older too... I don't like it, not one bit.
As soon as we get our place set up (no more boxes and bags scattered everywhere), I'm starting on that kettlebell routine with Vegas - need to tone up, build some muscle and stretch out those kinks in my back and shoulders. I want to stay young in body as well as in spirit and raaargh! I can do it, I can do it!
Plus, isn't she just so cute? She's only 8kg though (17.6 lbs) but I need to start smart and then we'll see what happens.

I know what you mean about parents getting older...my dad turns 58 this year :(
I have started on a work out routine as well, along with some yoga, so far I am loving it...the motivation is still there which is great :)
You dad's 59? Happy birthday to Dad then! My dad's 53 this year and mom's 50.
Send him my regards!
I have GOT to stick with a workout routine and stop veering back to super sweets and sodas
but.. but.. i LIKE them..
Ooh, I'll have to look into that kettle thingy......I need a regimen too but I put it on the back burner to focus on something else for now....
Good luck!!
Sweet T, that is awesome! Motivation was the lacking thing with me... I have it now, too :-)
CD, he is happy for all the wishes! And to think that my mom had me at 17... my dad was 21. Holy heck.
Deutlich, every time you do a situp you get to bite off a bit of that chocolate bar between your knees... works for me! :-D
WW, once I've started the kettlebell workout I'll blog about how much it hurts, and then you can get one! teehee
Happy Birthday to to TechnoDad.
My Dad is 80 and Mum is 75 - (yes, I was a huge surprise to them) and each day is precious to me.
LOL! Why did I expect to see a puppy or something, then I click on the link and see at strange piece of exercise equipment!
My Dad is in his 60's my mom not quite there yet but getting there. So I know what you mean. It makes you start counting your own days. Not good.
Happy birthday!
Ok, now seriously, stop talking about age things. Bad timing. :D
Sian, my goodness! Talk about a surprise, for real!
Girl1218, it's the only way I'll get any exercise... gotta "play with the pet kettlebell", LOL!
Prin, what? you're turning 60 this weekend? nooooo!
Not funny.
At.
All.
Nobody's laughing... just the firemen standing ready besides your birthday cake...
*rotf*
All the firemans want a piece of my cake.
Reer.
*nanner nanner*
See? birthdays are FUN!
whoooeeeeee!
*watches Prin watching the stripping firemen*
Yum! Wine and Sushi - what a combo for a pair! :-)
So I am going to try the red wine thing, what brand did you have, I am more of a white wine drinker and wouldn't know where to start.
Good luck on your toning adventure, I need to start one myself :)
Daring, it's the best evah!!
Piper, I don't think it matters if it's red or white... pick one you enjoy sipping and perhaps watch a bland tv show or movie or read a magazine to relax the brain, let alcohol do its magic of massaging the stress out of the noggin... it really does work :-)
