So. Vegas is back from Boston but gone again for a day of work in the city, which means I'm stuck here in the stinking relentless heat with three panting dogs and no way to get to the lake.
This sucks.
Needless to say I'm exhausted, have a headache and am sick of being overheated, am tempted to spend most of this day sleeping. I can't go anywhere (no car) and I can't do anything outside, too hot for any cooking or housework - what the hell is left?
Autumn can't come fast enough...
Oh wait!
We have a garden hose :-D
At least last night's salad was good, the freezer is full of popsicles and there's lemonade and beer in the fridge (shandies!), I made fresh bread this morning for Vegas who isn't even having any due to an upset tummy so all the more for me. Yey?
Life is good, life is good - repeat.
Edited to add: Just went to the mailbox and had a lovely "welcome home" parcel in there from my lovely friend Sophie - only she could come up with stuff like this, LOL! Awe! It made my day, as much for the beautiful gift as for the thought and love that went into it. I feel blessed! Thank you cocotteski!

Glad to hear that you had a delicious salad for dinner. Lemonade and beer, I think I'll opt for lemonade and iced tea. And just leave the beer as it is. :o)
Whatever happened to your full of love-ness. Now you're just sick of the weather, etc. ;o) I get it, though. Pop in a good movie, gather the pups and relax. After the week you've had, you most certainly need it.

yep thats what i would do is get my fave snacks, fave movies, and snuggle up with the pups and chillax. do you have air conditioning? now dont laugh, some people in the north do!
vegas will be home soon and then go into town for some ice cream... or a movie....

Kathryn, it's 3/4 lemonade and a bit of corona... sooo good. And naughty, too... maybe that,s why it's so good :-D The house is much cooler than outside so I'll just keep hiding until tonight when we can hit the lake, Yey!
C, we had AC in the old apartment but not in the new house, waaah! I could just take a cold shower and shuddap but then bitching's so much fun :D
When everything out of our control fails, it's time for hot C. And if it's too hot for hot C, put ice cubes in it. :D
