Am having a pretty good day, despite a rough start - the skies have cleared, the humidity has abated somewhat and the sun is hitting hard: all ingredients of a good summer day!
The basement renos are coming along slowly but surely, the walls should all be done by tomorrow (too humid for the putty to dry, how annoying) and then we start work on the ceiling and the stairs. Then the paint, the lights, the trim, the gates on the doors and a bunch of other small stuff and WE'RE DONE!!
My office is ready and my website is almost ready to go... almost.
Our contractor put the fence posts in for our big dog park this morning and as I stood in it at lunchtime, looking around, it just felt blah to me. Too small and definitely not the "wow" factor I was looking for.
So I asked Vegas for his opinion on what to do, we checked out the land and what was feasible and decided to expand another 50 feet towards the paddocks we had cleared a few weeks ago.
Hot damn we have the land, let's use it!
The new fence posts are all in place now, I need to paint them as the metal is rusted in some places (we re-used the vine posts), then more brush-cutting, lawn mowing and vine extraction - sweaty job - and next week the fence goes UP!
OMG I'm so excited!
For the first time since we moved here I can actually see what it will all look like and can project to open my dog hotel in a few weeks!
*happy dance*
Vegas is gone to Boston until tomorrow night on bidness (he he), the doggies are too hot to get into trouble so I'll just keep chugging away at tasks... The new horse gate needs one more coat of paint, I have to clear out the cold room in the basement (we threw all our moving boxes in there, it's chaos!) and bring in the load of laundry that's outside drying in the warm breeze.
Is there a better scent than clothes fresh from the line?
OK besides fresh baked bread! LOL
Tomorrow is another day, maaaaaayybe one without a freaking headache (day five right now) and oh, I just noticed that I have no wine for tonight.
*sad face*
I'm full of love right now.
Love for my hubby, who did a really awesome job at finally cleaning up his stuff aka "man crap" this morning (I happy!).
Love for my doggies, who are all behaving so well and keeping me good company.
Love for this beautiful summer day, what a treat to have no ominous soggy storms!
Love for this first house, which is so very special and beautifully rewarding.
Love for too many things to mention without getting all mushy!
You should be happy I'm in a good mood, yesterday was MISERABLE and I nearly poked out my own eyes out of annoyance with the world. You know those days when you're in a shitty mood for no reason, so that puts you in even more of a shitty mood?
Yeah, that.
So at 4pm I had chocolate cake and red wine.
Seems to have worked!
OK back to jobbing - don't forget to vote on the new poll, you want to, I know you want to.

I love the point in the project when it's almost done and you can see just how great it is going to be. I like to revel in that time.
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you.
Sounds like things are coming along swimmingly! I am so excited for you and your new business. Can't wait for all the doggie tales.
Hope you are migraine free today. Those just suck. Big time.
And you are definitely full of love. Wish I could say I was right now. Frustration and tiredness does nothing good for a person. Hopefully it'll all work itself out. At least I managed to get just about 10 hours of sleep yesterday.
Right now, can't think of a better aroma than fresh baked bread. Yummmers.
Happy Thursday!
C, I couldn't imagine life without at least one dog in it... am glad you agree! And thanks for checking out my photo blog, if any of those made you smile then my mission is accomplished!
Katie, yes yes - am reveling! The calm before the storm, as they say...
Kathryn, what's going on with you? Lots of work or other stuff?... *worried*
TD - just a lot of stuff. But, I'd rather not have it here for the world to see. I have some limits. ;o) But, didn't want to send you email w/o you giving the ok. Funny how a bond can form from just day to day interaction. :o)
"My office is ready and my website is almost ready to go... almost."
Oh, and what kind of website would THAT be? ;)
So glad you are full of love. and chocolate cake and red wine. ALL is good in the 'hood.
Take care and don't work sooooo hard.

Kathryn, I seem to chat more with "virtual world friends" via my blog than with "real life" friends... how life is changing with technology, eh? And not all in a bad way, either. Are you on facebook??
Frank, you need to be at least 18 years old to enter the site. Soon, soon! LOL
Busy Bee, the next few days will be Floridian-style torrid heat so I will be sure to take lots of siestas ;-)
Dont melt away with all of that humidity...excited about your website..can wait to see it! (and pic your brain on starting your business...)
So excited for you ... have I told you that? *smile*
TD - nope, not on facebook. I think I am one of the few I know who isn't. Too many other things to try and keep up with, I can't even keep up with my own blogs. Though, at some point I'm sure I'll have to give in to it given that many of my family members are on FB.
Daring, yes I think you may have told me that! ha ha!
Kathryn, let me know when you join ;-)
TD - we both could be waiting a long time for that one! At least we have our blogs.
