Even if it's in your back yard.
Even if it's quasi-freezing at night (3C is COLD).
All to the tune of Vegas "tsk-ing" and shaking his head, as he is sure we girls will be scurrying back inside before midnight.
Um, no - we're not wussies like boys are!
He did help set the mood by hooking up our new BBQ for dinner - mmmm tasty marinated pork fillets and roasted corn - but no smores or camp fire cuz, well, did I mention it was freezing outside? Should be soaking in a hot bubble bath instead of getting the sleeping bags and blankets ready but what can I say... Life is short, live it up :-)
I aim to keep the tent up for a week and sleep in it as much as possible, with or without my husband but hey there's always the dogs to keep me warm!
(Vegas hates camping, I aim to cure him of that... I have a few tricks up my shorts, he he)
I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
If you don't hear from me, the coyotes were hungry.
In other news, the fencing for the dog park is up *insert hurrahs!* - just need to get the two gates built and set up, the corners braced and the whole 14,000 square feet threaded and tightened so all is stable and won't buckle under the elements... but still! Lookit! (the picture clicks bigger)
OK that's it for tonight, time to wrap up the day's chores before wrapping us up in quilts under the stars.
Good night.

there are few things i enjoy more than camping, even in the back yard! there's just something about it. BUT YOU MUST MAKE SMORES! and cook your food outside.

Oh that sounds like so much fun. We camped as kids. It was so much fun. Wish I could send you some fire flies to help set the mood. Oh do tell us all about it when you blog tomorrow. Hope you stayed outside all night (and didnt scurry in)...its just the bugs that get me where I dont do it anymore...but it was fun!
Ooh! I love camping. Well sort of. I love camping when amenities are close by. And on an airmattress.
Okay, I love the idea of camping and I suck at actually making myself sleep on the hard ground.
Nevertheless, the outdoor camping sounds like a lot of fun.
And also, yay! for the doggy fence being up!
As a final note, this is possibly my favorite post title in recent memory. My spin on it: I'm all about the appearance of sanity.
Have a great time!
You are so awesome to camp outside with the little one. Boys are sissies!!! :) I love camping too...nothing more fun than being cold outside in the fresh air with wild animals. I mean wild dogs.
Love the fenced in area...I am sure your dogs love the freedom of space too!!!
How awesome! Camping in your own backyard . . . but without the smores? No fair. ;o)
I'm not about the sanity today. Had inconsiderate college kids who woke me up at 2:30 AM because they don't know how to modulate their voices while on their balcony. Yeah, no fun. So, I am exhausted and grumpy. And was no ball of sunshine to my other half when I was rudely awoken by these kids. Ugh.
So glad it's Friday!
Oh yeah . . . the dog run looks AWESOME!!!
I think I could handle that type of camping. The kind where you could indoors to your house if you felt like it.
Where's the picture of the tent? And I'm glad she's been promoted from "Vegas' kid" to "stepdaughter". :)
I am sure I will have a great time in the tent tonight :) I bought a six pack. *grin*
It'll be cool, and it's a good way to avoid last night blues from the little one
C, I looove mille feuilles! they make a junky one called Passion Flake, it's to die for... :-D
Daring, it was too cold for bugs so wooohoo! That's the only time to camp, LOL!
Katie, yey for appearances, LOL! and you can camp vicariously through me perhaps? *grin*
Busy Bee, the doggies are not quite sure what to make of the space yet but I think they like it! Vegas is braving it tonight for a sleep in the tent since it's his daughter's last night here - awe! Good dad :-)
Kathryn, that would have driven me mental - I abhor inconsiderate people, gaaah! Another reason I moved out of the city... Hope tonight is more quiet for you or send them a case of beer laced with exlax!
Surfergirl, it's good practice! LOL
Prin, pics are coming! :-D
Vegas, she's too young to drink - tsk! But am very proud of you for braving the big scary tent, ha ha!
