Keeping it real

Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss
to solve problems that are not related to your weight.
At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself
and deal with your problems.
You will still have the same husband, the same job,
the same kids, and the same life.
Losing weight is not a cure for life.

ya know, mon amie, this is so sadly true and i say sadly because so many people including myself years ago really believed if i lost weight, i would then be happy, as if all my problems and issues were caused by the extra weight i carried around. so many times i took it off only to still have the same shit going on in my head, so i'd eat again, put it back on and start over... so many wasted times, so much wasted energy, disappointments, shame, self abuse... all because i kept failing at the same thing over and over again. oh you just dont know. and i know people still living that way. i no longer do. i have accepted my size, i LOVE to cook and eat, and i am as healthy as i can be in the body i have.

unfortunately, media, society and TV start pumping the skinny shit into young childrens heads from a very young age... everything is all about being thin, and looking beautiful. we are not all made that way. its OK to be who we are... no matter what that is.

merci for posting this. it really struck a bell avec moi...

Well, at least my clothes would fit me. Right? That is the only thing I am not happy about. Everything else is just peaches.

Losing weight is only the cure for candy guilt.
