I don't remember ever catching "the flu" as an adult, maybe as a kid but I don't remember. I've had a few colds before, just like anyone else, and even bronchitis once but never the flu.
So I don't know what happened here.
Yesterday I had a dry cough follow me around all day, thought it was barn dust in my throat. By early evening my throat had filled with razor blades, my skin had gone super sensitive and the migraine hit. Cramps everywhere. Dizzy and nauseous.
Didn't sleep a wink all night despite pills and syrups.
The damn fever finally broke around lunchtime today but the misery is far from over.
My voice is shot and I can hardly lift a glass of water to my lips.
I'm wracked with pain from head to toes, but mostly the head. That's where the tonsils are, right? Those nasty swollen things that stop you from swallowing?
Thank goodness Vegas took care of the farm critters for me today, I couldn't stand up without almost fainting.
I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband-nurse :-)
So yeah, I can now say that I've officially hosted my first flu virus and we're having a grand ol'partay.
Won't you join in the fun? :-D
