A good day in unflattering pics!

Vegas and I have a running joke between us - he's the brains of the operation but I'm the photographer!

I love my husband and it's not really his fault as most of the pics he takes of me are with a crappy camera (in this case an iPhone) but I'm psychologically scarred now, when it's time for pics I cringe... talk about making one feel horribly deformed :-/

I swear the mirror is so much kinder to my old face, holy sh*t.

Anyhoo, yesterday was very lovely despite cold snowy wet grey weather. I dressed up as Waldo and we drove to the city for an Imax movie that we never got to see (four times we tried to see Tron and every time has failed for one reason or another - it must be destiny).

Five minutes before leaving the house I somehow got an eyelash lodged under my eyelid and it hurt like a mofo, it just would NOT flush out and kept scraping my eyeball every time I blinked. Agony! So yeah, a movie was out of the question.
So we went to my favorite book store instead and I got some loot!

This was me with a red leaky nose thanks to the bitter wind,
I almost got this book just for the cover!

Vegas brought me to a nice sushi place he knows,
what a treat!
This was his plate:

I got to eat a knob of wasabi just for kicks.
OK not really, I'm not suicidal.

Tempura is yummy.
I should audition for the circus with this face.

After six attempts or so,
this was the best pic of us we could get with the iPhone.
Yeah, it would send anyone into a depression.
Like, seriously??
There were no lemons involved in the making of this horrible photo!

I used to have good pics taken of me by my ex,
I don't miss him but I do miss the photos.
Yes, I am that vain.

Anyways. The chickens don't care what I look like and my husband doesn't seem to mind that my face is melting so I'll just go in denial about the whole thing. It still stings though.

Yes, I did get my cake (mmmm black forest!) with a sparkler in it, washed down with a good glass of beaujolais to the peeping sound of a bunch of new baby chicks - total tally is 8 sweet new faces! - followed by a hot bubble bath and a good night's sleep.

What more could a lady want? ;-)

Back to routine today... barn mucking, cleaning, laundry, cooking, the works.

I might have cake for lunch, though - hehe!

Cute last pic of you! And the pic of you and Vegas is cute, too. Sorry for the lack of commenting on your blog, but I am keeping up!

Oh! Oh! You know why? It's the same reason I'm not photogenic at all: with Vegas, you're goofy. Goofy isn't photogenic. You weren't goofy before.

*nods sagely*

I'm always goofy.:D

But still, I prefer the pics of you goofy.

Happy Birthday to you!! Bookstore and sushi, what more could you want? Sounds fantastic to me... We went and saw Tron on Saturday, the 3D was pretty good, the film (I thought) was ok. Maybe if I'd seen the first one, I would have felt different...

I was thinking of you yesterday...hoping you were have a good day. I had no thoughts about you and your eyelash starting a war though. Poor you.
I think I might just shank you for saying your photos are bad, seriously? You are adorable. You don't look your age (you don't act it either!) Have you looked around at other women in their early 40's?? Please, go to a PTA meeting in your town. You will feel like a movie star.
Glad your day was all about it should bee!!!!

The price of happiness is being married to an inept photographer :)

Happy Birthday! And, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about - you are GORGEOUS!!!!

BTW, I Love You, Stinky Face is one of my favorite books ever!! I used to read it to my son when he was little (and I called him Stinky Face before I ever found the book) and now I read it, and the others in the series, to my class.

Well maybe my eyesight is going but I can't see what you are talking about AT ALL. All of those pics are lovely.

I WANT YOUR COAT AND HAT! Yes, I am shouting. That's how badly I want it.

Now I really want sushi, too!
