Don't hassle the hoff!

"Getting in shape for this role, which is incredibly demanding, vocally, has been a lot of hard work, but I'm nailing it. I'm even kind of, at times, blowing my own mind, because I am even able to talk right now. "

Here is the final tally for the poll, on 25 total votes:

Question: On honesty... You're at the cash register paying for your purchases, and notice the cashier forgot to scan an item. Do you:

**Say nothing, let them bag the goods and go! Yay, free stuff! 8%

**Hesitate, but figure "their problem". Take the bags and leave. Still feel a level of guilt. 48%

**Flag it to the cashier, and pay for the item. It's the right thing to do, even if it sucks. 44%

**Alert the cashier he/she's doing a crappy job. Stop trying to make criminals out of honest people! 0%

Looks like we're sitting on the fence betweeen the gardens of good and evil... it hurts the crotch but what choo gonna do?

THE NEW POLL IS UP... ARE YOU A SNOOP?

The joys of summer

So bleddy HOT!

It's 7:30pm and still 30C, add the humidity and we are hitting 39C... had to put both dogs in the bedroom cuz it's the only place with A/C, hopefully it will cool down tonight cuz they need to go stretch their legs and have a proper bio break. If I licked my back, I'd probably go "ACK! salty!" cuz yeah, it's been drippy.

My little bro dropped by for a short visit, it was so nice to see him again - he's been renovating his house like mad the past two weeks and forgot to eat so he lost some weight, and if you knew him you'd wonder "what weight?" cuz he's fit as a fiddle. Hmm a week of McDonald's would cure all that, or he could take some of MY fat... I got plenty to sacrifice to the cause ;-)

Hungry. No idea what to eat. Have a headache. Tylenol for dinner!

Oh my gawd! LOL

An ugly man walks into his local pub with a big grin on his face.

"What are you so happy about?" Asked the barman?

"Well, I'll tell you," replies the ugly man. "You know, I live by the railway. Well, on my way home last night, I noticed a young woman tied to the tracks, like in the movies. I, of course, went and cut her free and took her back to my place. Anyway, to make a long story short, I scored big time! We made mad passionate love all night long."

"Fantastic!" exclaimed the barman. "Was she pretty?"

"Dunno'...Never found the head!"

Ring-a-ding

That's the sound I would need to wake up in the mornings... the clock radio thingie just doesn't work, I always sleep sooo hard at 7am and my subconscious is cloaking my brain cuz it loves the rest... Six hours is seriously not enough. I'm probably cutting years off my life due to exhaustion!

"Go to bed earlier then". Well yah, I've been trying! Seems the hottest time for my forums is late at night, everybody's online and wants to chat, I get sucked in and just don't see the hours melt away. No discipline, that's what. I guess I deserve my red scratchy eyes and headache.

Kay well no matter, it's FRIDAY and that deserves a round of applause! I'll be closing the poll this weekend and look forward to posting the results for everyone, already have the next one lined up. Ya ready for it?!

So I have a call with my boss in a half-hour, am kinda nervous about it actually. Hope I didn't open a can of worms that can't be fried and thrown to the birds, you know? He's buddies with the guy I want to throttle so I have to tread very carefully... my peanut-butter toast is percolating in my tummy and this morning's tylenol is on strike. Wish me luck... I need all the good vibes I can get!

Packing up now...

"Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
Albert Einstein

Aha! I knew it!

LOL! Check out the current poll stats... more opportunists than honest folk are responding. Guess I'm gonna have company to party with in Hell! he he.

No time to blog today :(

It's been brutally busy from the moment I got up to, well, now! Non-stop work, eat lunch in front of the computer, meetings, ringing phone, a deluge of emails... not even time to go get a coffee or go pee. I'm totally wiped out and still fighting a raging urge for a cold beer and Lay's potato chips. I shall resist!

On the way home I grabbed a spicy grilled chicken sandwich, it's the F1 street fair so all the merchants are on the street, music and cheap wares and food galore. S'fun. Ate half and kept the rest for BF, who was happy to snack on it. Oh and I can't go jogging because mysteriously, one of my ankles is swelled up and starting to twinge. NO freaking idea how that happened, either. Don't I feel smart, walkin' around with a bandaged ankle - UGH! I'll take the pink cigarettes now, please!

On courage

"Courage is doing what you're afraid to do.

"My wife demanded I take her to some place expensive... so I took her to the gas station."

Feeling better now

I'm going to adopt this fine expression, yes. It pretty much recaps my day, in a sarcastic fashion. Just came back from a run of sorts (run a block, walk a block, etc - I have no lungs), I'm warm from the tanning lamps and ready to chill out for a bit. Just need to feed the kids first.

This morning I brought the big bean to the vet's for a complete blood profile including thyroid, no idea why it costs so much but he's worth it. I really want to know if he's healthy inside, after all he'll be 3.5 years old at the end of June and it was more than time. He was soooo good, gentle, calm and had everyone fawning all over him. A real romeo! A BIG romeo, up to 138.5 lbs now and still growing... that's unusually big for an akita. I don't mind cuz he's ripped, gorgeous muscle tone and no fat at all... but man is he ever freaking *strong*. No wonder they used them to hunt bears in Japan!

Bruised, battered & deep-fried

What a friggin' day. Got pushed to my limits by a co-worker who thinks himself my boss (and I do not report to him), it was the last straw that sent me in tears to the HR office. I think it was the first time in 7+ years with the company that I let a prick like that get to me. The NERVE of that jerk! Bossing everyone around like little poolboys? I think not! At least I got to air my griefs and I have a call with my REAL boss Friday morning, I'm collecting ammo in the meantime and we'll see what happens. I'm not about to let some moron destroy our team, somebody has to step up and say something, dammit!

I'm exhausted, mentally and physically. Feel like having some granola for dinner and then going for a short run & a tan. Thank goodness BF took the kids out for their run tonight, I wouldn't have had the strength. Oh and the little bastards killed a bird today, I went out to sweep the tiny balcony where they spend their days and there it was, stiff legs up in the air, broken neck. What kind of suicidal bird gets close to two huge dogs on a small balcony anyways?! Sigh. You can't stop hunting dogs from doing what they do best, I guess. RIP little fellow.

Parting quote

"The innocent and the beautiful
have no enemy but time."
William Butler Yeats

Mein Gott!

Did it ever blow in the field tonight! If my umbrella had been a kite, I'd be halfway across the province right now - and soaking wet, too! Piece of shit weather.

It hasn't been a bad day, I ate too much and I'm fighting a craving for potato chips (lord help me) but otherwise everything's fine. BF's been acting a bit strange the past few days though... dunno what's up with him. It's like he's mentally not there, but trying very hard to keep a semblace of normality? He says he's bored at his job lately but I dunno... I think it's me, eh? He's bored of me and our humdrum life. S'OK, I can't blame him cuz it hasn't been terribly thrilling lately - we definitely need that vacation by the sea. Just hope he doesn't fuck it up again this year cuz it will be the very last time he has the occasion to do that - I swear to God, I'll go by myself with the dogs if I have to, anything is better than spending precious vacation days with someone who doesn't want to be there and makes sure you feel it.

Watching a "House" rerun right now, the kids are fed, kitchen is clean and a hot shower is next on the menu... Stocked up on a few different shower gels so that's exciting, LOL! Ah. The little things that make life less flatlined. Yay.

Thunder! Lightning!

Canada has 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction time. I'd laugh if it were funny, eh? (insert droopy banana-faced guy here)

So where's the sun? It's been wet, warm and muggy and guess what? Tonight 7C. That's bleddy close to freezing and IT MAKES NO SENSE!! Already June and no solid good weather in sight yet, it's enough to drive anyone nuts.

Yes, this was a ranty post. Off to make a nice hot tea now. Sigh.

Mood meter today:

A mile in my shoes

It's pretty crappy to be judged by people who think they know you, but have never spent any real time with you - the virtual world is fine, but fraught with misconceptions and misunderstandings, which is sad, really. I need to grow a thicker skin and not care so much what people think, as long as I'm ok with my life, my responsibilities and my way of doing things. You can't please everyone all the time, and it's exhausting to even try to keep up with the pissing contest.

There, I feel better now. Onwards and upwards!

Capping this day

"Plastic Refraction" - Copyright Technodoll, 2007

Not much to report, still raining so outside activities are severly restrained. Sick of this crappy fucking weather!! My poor furkids are depressed, moping around and as bored as I am. They wish they were allowed on the 'net to surf for peemail but... No. I'll be updating the videos section tonight, if anyone is interested. Sorry for the grunty post but it's all I got in me right now. Tomorrow is another day and pass me the tuna!
