A helluva blizzard!

Well, more of an arctic wind storm than anything else... Other places are apparently getting lots of snow but there is only a dusting here, the wind made sure to sweep it all into other counties LOL!
See? No shoveling, yey!

I hope the house won't lose too many shingles or pieces of vinyl siding... it's blowing HARD out there, rattling and howling, the kind of wind that freezes exposed skin in under 30 seconds - I know this because I bundled up to go play in the park with the doggies and almost lost the only piece of cheek that wasn't covered!

The thermometer doesn't register any wind-chill factor:

Ah well, it goes with the territory when you live in such a climate and it's December. At least I got inspired to lug up the boxes of Christmas decorations from the basement, put a loaf of bread to bake in the machine and fire up a lovely broth for tonight's winter soup dinner.

Down to six eggs being sat on by my broody hen, she broke one overnight - luckily it was a dud so no damage done, I would have had to cull it next week anyways. Can't wait to candle the clutch again this weekend to see how many chicks we're getting!

I'm crossing my fingers for two, please lordy at least two!

Oh, we got our property appraised yesterday and the verdict will arrive mid-January... In the meantime I'm working on some painting and minor room adjustments to get maximum dollar potential, most staging & pics are done so I've got lots on my plate. We're stuck here until end of June next year anyways so it's one process at a time...

...and holy hell is it ever windy outside! Brrr!

The chicken coop, despite all my efforts, is really drafty and there's nothing I can do about it. Temp is registering below freezing in there... Hope the flock will be ok :-(

I think I'd prefer the light dusting as opposed to the buckets of rain. But, you can keep the frigid temps.

Hope the chickies stay well.

Happy Wednesday!

I'd like it to rain right now and get rid of all of this, please?

You can't imagine how hot it is here today...and humid. I think I will take a trip to Canada for a day or so. I won't make it much longer than that!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for two little babies! It's amazing to see you landscape change with the seasons. Uh, we don't have seasons here. :)

Kathryn, I love light dusting but winds that rip roofs off houses can scram! LOL

Myself, no because then it would freeze and turn everything into a giant ice rink. Baaad.

Busy Bee, the weather is all upside down on its side - what the heck is happening! Next winter the flock has a new coop so that's a relief. Just have to make it through this year...

Surfergrrl, well you have rainy season and... uh.... *blinks* Ah yes, summer summer summer! :-D

Prin, it sure sounds like it did! :-o
