When the weather gets tough, the tough get cookin'!
Or something like that.
Some weekends are just so cold, wet and blustery that the only thing you can do is spoil yourself doing stuff you love but rarely take the time to indulge in.
Vegas and I found an sweet used-book store in our neighborhood yesterday and oh, it's a cave of treasures! I got a big bag of awesome reads for peanuts and just finished re-organizing my little bookshelf: out with the old, in with the new. I'm all set for a while now, woo!
A good book with a hot cuppa tea on a cold rainy day = win :)
I also made a big pot of potato, corn and cheese chowder as well as a delicious loaf of bread, mmm! And of course there are leftovers... Most excellent.
Today is for baking a chocolate cake, watching movies and just chilling out all bundled up on the couch under a blankie.
If it's going to snow on May 9th we may as well make the most of it, eh?
I also have a couple eggs that started hatching a day early so that's pretty cool - by tomorrow we'll have more sweet chirping babies, yey! I'm taking a break after that, I don't think to incubate any more eggs until July when my stepdaughter visits. No more place for chickens!
Speaking of new life, Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there, mine included! She's the best one of all :)
