Strange days

There are a lot of losses happening here lately.

Loss of trees on our property, loss of a laying hen this morning (found her dead on the floor of the coop, partially eaten by the flock), loss of two beautiful silkie hens this afternoon - one of my friends desperately wanted to adopt them so they went to a good home), loss of sleep (OK that one's ongoing) and now the loss of our dogue de bordeaux dog, Dante...

We've decided to re-home him as he's not happy here and needs more than we can give him, so a wonderful family is coming to meet him today to see if they click. If yes, he will go to a happy family in the countryside with lots of dogs he can play with, so he never is lonely and bored again.

It wasn't an easy decision to take but it's the right one.

Please wish us good luck...

Oh so hard...we had to let one of our beloved dogs go live with Grandpa. It was a hard choice, but has turned out to be the best choice for him, Grandpa and us!

C, we'll be getting lots of updates and photos from the new family, they are just wonderful - not sure we'd want to visit though, it would be too hard- you know?

ModernMom, I wish we had such a grandpa!

Just Breathe, don't be sad... it's good for everyone, trust me.

Farley, we could go visit him when you're here if you really want to... and yes, it is a super tough decision. he will have 7 dogs to play with there, and some lamas, and he will be much happier so it's for the best.

Oh TD, I am so sorry you have been faced with these losses and tough decisions. I agree with the others, it is because of your unconditional love for your babies that you are doing what is best for Dante. Doing what is best, usually isn't easy. Hugs to you and Vegas

Wishing you luck with these decisions...
I know they are not easy. Sometimes the hardest ones, end up being the best.
Hugs, Suz

Oh, I'm sorry you've had to go through this, but once again I can see what a responsible parent you are to your family. It's hard to do the right thing when it's also a sad thing. I know this is outdated now, but I hope that meeting with the family went well.
